Why are those looking for KS-LE-B not interested in KS-LE-1 at all? Many servers with 32GB RAM and 2x960 SSDs have been delivered, and the difference between KS-LE-B and KS-LE-1 is very small, their prices are the same.

CPU on KS-LE-B is quite more powerful than the one in KS-LE-1. (about 2x faster single core performance in synthetic benchmarks)

    No, it's only a 10% difference.

Its alot more than 10%, iGPU on the LE-B, DDR4 RAM, NVMEs etc

    Single Core | 743
    Multi Core | 2579

    vs

    Single Core | 1474
    Multi Core | 4821

the difference is only igpu, there is a 10% difference in single thread.

Geekbench is bullshit, it can't measure what a dedicated server does.

    see the detailed test below.

That is my KS-2 (APAC-SYD) renewal. I was happy with extra 2x2TB. But look at the nonsense items and the bill which is totally different from original 42EUR renewal.

Not sure if we gonna hit same issues with those upgraded KS servers later.

    Oops.
My KS-LE-B with 2x1.9T nvme renewed yesterday for the advertised 9.99€, so no extra cost for the bigger disks.
But perhaps people with extra pair of disks will have the same surprise as you did... We'll soon know!
I think you can open a ticket though, that's now what you ordered, it's not your fault there were extra disks.

How did you change the renew date to 1st of the month? I have KS-LE-B and KS-LE-1 configs with different due dates and autopay enabled but I have the renew on the provision day and OVH sends me e-mails that my services will expire soon, however auto pay turned on so I do not have any idea how to solve it...

Go to https://www.ovh.com/manager/#/dedicated/billing/autorenew and select all the servers you need and choose day of renewal in dropdown above the server list

Ah thanks, done! Previously in 2023 OVH did it for me when they adjusted their billing system.

It's a side effect of how I drop the setup fees. I've explained a couple of times on LET how to do it with a French account.
I don't understand why OVH are sending you emails. On the day a server renew, they issue a new invoice, and the day after that my paypal is billed. No emails.

I use debit card for automated payment and it worked as you mentioned on my previous KS-LE-1 and I replaced it with lottery ones from the actual promotion and billing problems started.
Now I aligned the billing date to one date on every server, provided data but OVH did not charge my card and order still pending.
I'll wait and hoppe that everything fixing themselves. The amount is available on my account credit and on the debit card so ball is on OVH's side.

And do not forget about the network. IT is not an advertised extra but KS-LE-1--6 got bandwidth-unguaranteed and LE-B got simply bandwidth-300, not guaranteed or unguaranteed.

In practical I experience better performance on LE-B if at evening the national peering lines crowded from Hungary to France, LE-B performs better. However KS-LE-1s are lottery models, so on IPv6 I can achieve 600--800 Mbps reliable upload which is very good if network not crowded.

Summary: LE-B better performance, LE-1 higher chance to get near 1 TB SSDs and IPv6 Gbps up. However comparing with a 1.2 TB LE-B with a 960 GB KS-LE-1 the LE-1's only advantage is the gigabit up on IPv6 when needed to move high amount of data. In other situations LE-B performs better.

  • Most people keep the server idle anyway, or my CPU usage average is at most 10%. Who cares about these differences? What's important is that it's cheap and works. I have a KS-LE-1 with 32GB RAM, 2x960GB SSD, and gigabit IPv6. It works great, I couldn’t care less about B, C, D, E.

  • On the topic of network, the E3-1245 v2s will be running on old, legacy network hardware, in old DCs, whereas the E3-1245 v5s are running on new(er) network hardware, in new(er) DCs.

But also specifications are a lot better, you also get IPMI with most if not all of them....

In the end, thats a perfectly fine situation. Nobody forces you to switch or anything. ;)

I'm saying, instead of going crazy when you don't get the ks-a servers, and then you raise up the whole world, focus on the normal servers.

  • Wasn't able to catch a KS-LE-2 with 2x1.92T SSD in BHS, I think F5 ordering method just won't work anymore :#
If anyone got one idling, I will be more than happy to take it off your hands.

  • I am struggling to get a KS-LE-E (SSD), if anyone has a spare I would be happy to take it.

I'm not in front of the computer but from memory, on a French account, in Orders, the three dots on the right of the orders have an option to cancel the order (résilier in french) within the 14 days period. If you do that, ovh changes the due date to "yesterday" and they refund the full amount (minus one day of service). Then, I think in Services, you can cancel the cancellation. They then issue an invoice for the remainder of the month, but without setup fees. You need to wait a few minutes between the two actions.
