    Thanks. I just reinstalled the OS (needed Ubuntu) and they had an option to set the locale while reinstalling. The control panel looks like it was designed in 2005.

    YABS for RS 1000 G11 iv SE in Vienna for reference, US was either sold out or had some issues, continuously got error while adding to cart

    I usually set the default system language with:
    dpkg-reconfigure locales

    In the first dialog, deselect 'de_DE.UTF-8', keep 'en_US.UTF-8' or replace it with your preferred locale. In the second dialog, choose your default locale. Then log out of your shell, only a new one will use the new default.

    You can set locale in the server install settings (server control panel -> Media -> Images tab -> select OS)

    I also recommend using Ansible to automate usual changes you make post-install

    Did you format your drive before reinstalling Ubuntu?

    Yeah that's what I did. Installed Ubuntu 24.04.

    I also recommend using Ansible to automate usual changes you make post-install

    Currently have a long shell script that installs various things and writes config files.

    I just went to the Images section and installed Ubuntu. The benchmark was run on the default Debian install.

    With Root Servers is it okay to use 100% of the CPU all day? (My use is probably just a couple of hours of 100% CPU a day, but just asking)

    Yeah, this came few months ago. Older VPSes aren't as powerful than the current line but less limits on the way you can (ab)use the network.

    Netcup is generally great for the price. I would get rid of alot of stuff myself and move it all to netcup if they would just enable virtualization, so i can run proxmox on their servers. But.....

    I think they ran away with my 1 euro :D I cancelled selecting pro-rata refund but no refund whatsoever but the server is cancelled. No response on support tickets as well
