I don't know if everyone was like me, not having fun during the whole Black Friday 。。。。

1, I have been in search of a dedicated server to support my small website, of course I have been in search of a cheap server, I was unsuccessful.

2, found that OVH has a lot of good server plans, but one can not be grabbed, there are no good people to tell me KS-LE-E this server you guys how to grab, I do not ask for the winning configuration, haha.

3, see servarica's server, feel particularly interesting, especially every day can increase 1M bandwidth and 1M storage expansion, is a Canadian hosting provider, do not know have used friends well? Can you tell me if this plan is worth buying?

Overall, nothing so far, very unhappy 。。。。 I'm not sure if you are the same as me?

  • Why you need a dedi for a small website?

How small we are talking here?

I have 4 websites, they are: movie site, software download, node resource sharing site, and news site.

In addition to that there are a few tools to run, including GO language, and python

Currently, the resource usage is about 20GB of RAM and 360GB of hard disk. I'm looking for a server that can be used for a long time because I want to consider the growth of users in the future.

  • Too high a fee for me to participate T_T

Isn't it, it feels like the whole holiday season is bad when you don't get your heart's desire. Hopefully the last day at the end will be productive.

For me, this black friday hasn't been insane. I've not been looking particularly closely since I'm only in the market for storage right now, but I feel like most of the deals available now (outside the low-stock megathread posts) are attainable outside black friday anyway.

Servarica: I've been with them for just over three years now and I've had a pretty okay experience with them. Their storage is a good price, but that's really all I have to say. Their storage deals really haven't changed at all in the last several years at this point, but at the same time, nobody (except host-c who I can never snag a deal from) have beat them (at the budget I'm limited to).

So they are good for storage. That said, the CPU you get on those big storage nodes suuuuuuucks. As in Geekbench gives up before completing. (Have heard that other offers get it much better.)

Yes I found a curious casino called VirMach
I spent all my money and received many vps that I’ll not use. Had a lot of fun.

But now, I’m unhappy, like you.
Because I’m broke and I still need to figure out what to do with all these servers.

    Next year I won't take part. o:)

  • Either too expensive
Or normal price beeing discounted as flash sale
    Or im too slow
Or the deal is whenever i sleep (EU timezone)

Next year i might book a holiday from work to grind bf tbh...

    Thanked by 1host_c
  • They are so many deals this year that people have dozens of servers and don't know what to do with them. Just watch the forums for long enough and you either catch another flash deal or you will see many people offering the loot for cheap or free transfer.

You should have checked out the @host_c deals. Unless you had your account set up with preloaded funds such that it is 3 mouse clicks to order, the stock will run out before you blink twice. The speed at which some things run out is both amazing and entertaining in one.

It’s not just you, some things are a lottery on who refreshes and notices at the just right time.

Deals are very tempting so many people want to get it, you must spend either time or money to get them. Nothing is free (not only money but time)

You won't be able to get flash deals unless you write a script which will automate the purchase. It's THAT quick.

However, Dyson servers (bare metal) they do last a few minutes (as you need to add different components such as ram, storage, cores over the bare metal).... So if it's Dyson, go for it.

Flash deals.... I've given up. I am not quick enough.

Still have to figure out how to make those work.

problem is that the second we launch them, people grab it as they are, so they end up being sold not for their purpose, as a configurable storage VPS. This is the reason I pulled the plug on them for the moment, otherwise, they do cover 80% of normal needs at a fair price.

You may not give a default config. Rather make the components required to be filled in.

While making the thread, you may give explanation about different components and the available options along with price per unit.

People may calculate the price beforehand (as they have already the price sheet) and accommodate accordingly to their budget.

Once the sell starts after sometime, it will be easier for the people to choose them and actually use as configurable storage vps.

Dyson is a great package if one plans ahead. But if people make decisions in spar of the moment, then it will most probably remain idle as they have miscalculated the price. While changing parameters, the time runs out.

I will wish if you could bring it again. The flexibility it provides is unique and I haven't seen anywhere else.

I told you guys so many times, the 5TB deal will not see the light of day.

those not needing it, sell it, transfer it.
    :D

Why would you not listen to me? :(

Just for curiosity, what's the difference between 3tb and 5tb in this case? I mean is there limitation regarding setup or hardware or allocation?

Because I think even in much higher price, people will go for it such as the demand I am seeing here.

  • I'm having fund bonding with @emgh
