    yes and no. I've tried to bypass China firewall using both JP and SG VPS, but it seems JP gets more jittery than SG.

    SG is a very well connected location in the region, but tokyo is an exotic intermediate POP as well and has low latency to the US if direct connection is iffy.

    this can be seen by most providers closing SG as an APAC expansion.

    other interesting POP are Osaka, Ho Chi Minh

    ooc whats your standard best route for bypassing GFW, Hong Kong or something?

    No best route honestly, main reason I really do not want to expand to APAC. Impossible to get things shipped, high transit costs, and finding contracted remote hands is a nightmare due to high cost of living in the big cities.

    Yeah the whole firewall thing seems very dynamic to say the least, glad I don't have to deal with anything like that in Australia yet

    I've never actually used SSH keys, sure I've set them up countless times but I prefer to just login via password. 64+ characters & 300+ bits of entropy so I should be fine, just more convenient I guess. :)
