i just realised Virmach Tokyo deals are not competitive at all given Greencloudvps offers on xTom as well

I'm out of the loop why do ppl like Tokyo deals so much, is it same as most APAC offers - historically expensive hosting/bandwidth combined with exotic location?

Expensive bandwidth is one of the few things that works really well with idling.

Maybe the demand mostly come from Chinese where route from TOK <> CN is better than SG <> CN?

    AS26930?

    What will it offer?

Solely newer hardware and more orientated to be business friendly (phone line, easy to use billing and support, managed services). EPYC 9000 - 2nd-3rd Gen Xeon Scalable - Ryzen 7000 & 9000. We have also been fiddling around with deployments out for companies (they tell us all hardware they want, we sort out ordering servers, cables, rails, rack nuts, switches .... everything)

Tokyo is interesting, a few more servers and you got 150ms from Europe.
Gonna get some Tokyo gaming going.

AS26930 -- AS15287 is not our primary one and is typically for BYOIP or certain clients that need IPs from separate ASNs.

yes and no. I've tried to bypass China firewall using both JP and SG VPS, but it seems JP gets more jittery than SG.

SG is a very well connected location in the region, but tokyo is an exotic intermediate POP as well and has low latency to the US if direct connection is iffy.

this can be seen by most providers choosing SG as an APAC expansion.

other interesting POP are Osaka, Ho Chi Minh

    No CPU model, no deal.

    Dallas: Dual E5-2690v3
    New York: Dual E5-2660v3
    Ashburn: EPYC 7351

(These should be getting upgraded sometime Q1-Q2 to newer and more efficient servers )

    I ordered Ashburn's 2C/4G/50GB/30TB@1Gbps, hahahaha

It was also marked as a fraudulent order, but they responded quickly after the work order was issued, and the payment was successfully made in a short while.

No best route honestly, main reason I really do not want to expand to APAC. Impossible to get things shipped, high transit costs, and finding contracted remote hands is a nightmare due to high cost of living in the big cities.
