【Seattle VPS Wanted】- Just can't find one

I've been watching this forum for a whole year, only to find NONE meeting my needs:

2 vCores Ryzen 7900 or 7950
4g Ram
50G NVMe
Location Seattle Metro

Budget $5 monthly, or $50 a year. Can afford more for higher specs.

I'll use it for a back-end database server.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

  • @crunchbits is in WA, latency to Seattle is pretty good.

  • My vote goes for @crunchbits too...

  • RackNerd has VPSes in Seattle.

There's also a Wheel of Fortune providing additional discounts when you click Complete Order.

    I saw them last year.

Unfortunately they're 10ms ping from Seattle Metro where my web servers lies.

But thanks a bunch for your suggestions.

  • I've used 3 providers who advertised Seattle area - Aquatis, Racknerd, and Limewave, but I don't recall seeing low cost Ryzen offers.

Aquatis is in Wowrack in Tukwila, of the 3 I had the best experience with them but I cancelled after my low latency need finished - wasn't price competitive. Their Xeons were at least from this decade though.

RackNerd seemed to have hardware in the Westin building, but they are sketchy with hardware details on cheaper plans so I doubt you'll get Ryzen from them.

Limewave offered Ryzen 3900 plans, but the company died/deadpooled in Feb.

FWIW Aquatis seem to have a decent sale now: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/200092/black-friday-16gb-kvm-vps-6-mo-40gb-nvme-1-10-gbps-uplink-4-locations-aquatis/p1, might be worth trying them for a month.

I checked with RackNerd, they have no 7950 in Seattle at present.

I also checked with Aquatis, they don't have Ryzen in Seattle.

Regarding livewave, I was lucky enough to escape limewave 2 weeks earlier before it deadpooled. I used to pay $20 a month for their 3900 for quite a few months.

I stick to Seattle just because I have a 1T SSD/30G ram VPS here with just $12 a month. It seems not to be beaten.

Heh, I escaped Limewave as well - got a BF deal from Limewave in 2022, didn't renew in 2023. Was considering switching to the Ryzen offer but went to Aquatis instead.

Your Seattle VPS plan certainly seems to be a unicorn, good luck finding a Ryzen around here.

    Didn’t AlphaVPS @AlexBarakov open Seattle recently ?

I PMed on Nov 26, and he told me "We don't have Ryzens in Seattle currently. Only LA."

    No Ryzen in Seattle.

  • I'd avoid anyone in Wowrack in general, total dump of a "facility". Racknerd also doesn't have anything in Westin to my knowledge, they resell ColoCrossing who's only present in Wowrack. It's honestly super hard to find anything good in Seattle nowadays :( NFOservers is in one of INAP's old facilities and is pretty decent, but no Ryzens. I think @xTom v.ps had some Ryzen stuff in Seattle, but they seem to be out of stock.

It looks like a mission impossible to find a VPS of 7950 in Seattle METRO.
