The school normally onsells them for $200 if it's a staff member buying them - for the IT manager it's a different story, pay the postage and I can do the rest to get you an M1 if you want it.

edit: slide in the DMs if u dont want to say yes publicly

Let me think about it after the event and thanks for the offer. I dont want to make people think anything as bribe so it might be better for me to pass on this, or we can find some ways like an auction or something.

Can’t be a bribe if you accept it after the event IMO.

I doubt any serious member would think that. Not even a provider and you don’t give anything in return.

    Just my 2c.

  • its not a bribe if it helps build relationships. like lobbying fee.

If it is true that somehow you want one too, we could consider sharing the postage  (shipping 2 at once is cheaper)

I'm sure there are enough of us who are grateful enough for all the deals we've got that we can spare a dollar or two (at least!). We'll setup a FATSHIPPING fund that'll comfortably cover the shipping costs from AUS to SGP. You're pretty close anyways.

As for the bribes, I've removed the FATPAL dispute. That's about the only thing anyone can accuse us of, which is fine.

Don't worry, my friend. Give heartbeat some time, they will take care of it. HeartBeat has good reputation. In case of any accident, open a ticket (Don't do that at this moment).

Not too worried - @heartbeat_IT is prem - just hope order goes through. :D

Please open a ticket now ;)

Nahh I am not that desperate, I can pay for the shipping (and the purchasing price) but just that since me and cybertech are quite close (physically geographically) it makes sense

unless you really want a laptop or get a great deal on one, mac minis are also awesome!

Yup thats exactly my thought, but I like to not sit at my desk so not too sure about Mac Mini. But in any case Mac Mini pricing has been super delicious nowadays...

Since the builtin VNC was laggy, I tried a several different solutions (forget the names, it was some reddit posts) and settled with splashtop personal since I could stream youtube/twitch with audio just fine. There might be other good solutions or maybe I could have tweaked the ones I tried more, that just worked out of box for me... That's been my solution to not always sit in front of the desk for the mac mini.

  • Btw it's 2 December, no 2$ 2c 2gb 22gb deals?

it's ex-work stuff out of Applecare Lifecycle, free for me - I've got 3 at home already I don't need them

I dont know how much you plan to sell it but I am actually considering to buy one... eyeing on M2 or M3 Air at this moment but figured that I might not need any

Might want to wait till M4, it's a huge jump. M4 Max cores on MacBook Pros are outperforming latest AMD and Intel desktop chips in many tests, and M4 also has a similar performance core.

Indeed, I have a Mac mini M4(16+256) and its performance-per-watt is insane.

I mean, sure, but for most use-cases most M-series processors will be just fine.

I’d advise against compring CPUs against the newer ones and instead compare your needs to the CPU in question when it comes to personal computing.

It’s easy to spend a lot more than needed.
