    Hi everyone! I just wanted to provide a potential update on our Nuremberg location. At the moment, we’re looking at potentially doing a migration to Frankfurt directly for our cloud compute services.

    This would have the primary benefit of reducing latency by 2-3ms since we are already correctly backhauling most of our traffic from Nuremberg <-> Frankfurt (i.e. almost all of our traffic already goes through Frankfurt anyway, so almost nothing would change in terms of the network other than the latency decrease). In addition, it would allow us to greatly expand our network connectivity and capacity. We’re still looking around at options in the area and haven’t come to a final decision.

    We’re aiming to do this in around March. Of course, we can do such migrations without any downtime by live migrations, but just note the potential possibility of a location change.

    We recommend sticking around 50-75%. But we rarely enforce this policy, unless you are planning on purchasing a lot of VMs and putting all of them to 24x7 100% use.

    At worst, we might temporarily throttle it on our side. We don’t do any suspensions or terminations for high CPU usage unless it’s cryptocurrency mining :)
