My VPS has been down for the last three days. I created a ticket about the issue yesterday, and today I can't even access the client portal.

Guys, there is (at least) one "MG down!!! OMG!" thread here on LET.

This one is their promo thread.

The dining room is for dining and for taking a dump there's another room.

(Yes, mine is down too, but let's stay civilized)

IMHO it is just fair that potential new buyers have a chance of knowing what they are getting in to. This assuming they are smart enough to check the thread instead of just reading the advertisement.

90% come back in 4 years and say, they dont know about that service.

  • My Frankfurt and NYC vps now up after reboot in portal.

Meanwhile in reality ... concrete report: I just went into the panel and rebooted my VPS. It came up normally, I saw no disk related problems - but I couldn't reach (ping) anything outside the LAN.
So, I (hard) reset my VPS ... and everything is up and running fine so far (incl. networking. I do have in fact established a SSH session).

So, it seems whole riverbeds were dug to be cried full ... only to find out that, whatever the problem was, @MassiveGRID seems to actually get things working again on a weekend.

Kudos to MG! Deserved by taking care of problems with ridiculously cheap VPSs during the weekend(!). I've seen far worse with providers selling VPSs at >= 5 times the price.

So, will those who demanded MG to be lynched, deactivated on LET, torn down by PayPal etc. due to their VPS down during a weekend, now apologize and/or at least admit that they acted like a lynch mob? I don't hold my breath ...

  • Apparently, according to their livechat agents, they were facing some huge DDoS on their frankfurt datacenter, anyhow, after hours of being down, i can now finally ssh and my servers are backup and amazingly faster than before lol

  • Panel works.
I've restarted vps via vnc - it didn't fix network porblem.
Network back after reboot on panel buttons

  • Am I the only one who can't make an order, the page won't load?

  • did they fix all problems now?

    Define "all"

"I don't know about others, but my account has already been restored to normal usage, and their official website is also back to normal. However, my one-year free subscription still hasn't been granted."

FWIW, my VPS is in the UK (London, I think).

I experienced that too. Open a VNC and from there (in that "slide in" menu) pick "hard reset".
That did the trick for me.

  • The website is unavailable at the moment.

  • For my UK VPS, which was down, it's now back.

My DE one is back but can't reach anything external to the VPS.

Lucky you. I already over 36 hours have not access to the panel. It's dead. Same goes

Ofcourse. They advertise with 24/7. They advertise with HA. They advertise with no single points of failure. Where are all these things? Nowhere. All 3 locations down.

And where are they to comment on what's happening?

So, will those who demanded MG to be lynched, deactivated on LET, torn down by PayPal etc. due to their VPS down during a weekend, now apologize and/or at least admit that they acted like a lynch mob? I don't hold my breath ...

No I won't. Because this is not a standalone incident; performance has been a drama for weeks already. If you believe in fairytales, go ahead. I don't, and the point of giving up on MG has been reached with the massive outage this weekend.

  • Indeed I confirm a full power cycle helped. Honestly, it would be fine for me if I could automate this… but I don't see a way without automating a web browser clicking on the client panel.

  • Pay 3 year and you get 1 more year for free, I guess 1 year is for downtime?

  • Order Number is: 3299616282
    Thank you!

  • Even with all this I'm slightly tempted to get a 1c/1g just to lock in the price and see how it performs (and as a tailscale exit when needed). I'll wait until tomorrow to decide based on what issues come up today

A quick resolution to that is to make a complete stop of your server and then start it again from our control panel: https://portal.massivegrid.com

Your server will start with the new configuration that resolves the issue. That configuration has been deployed in all our nodes and clusters (even those that didn't face issues).

The root cause that caused this in some nodes in some clusters has been found and fixed. The fix was applied to all our nodes, all our clusters over the weekend to make sure that no other cluster nor node will cause such issues in the future.

Extended to the 4th year and price locked for future upgrades!

I powered off and on again. I rebooted several times. Still cannot ssh into my Frankfurt vps.

  • This is terrible, users who have ordered for four years ... Has it only been a month?
