Low End Backup VPS

Mahfuz_SS_EHLMahfuz_SS_EHL Host Rep, Veteran

Hi,
I need a VPS for Backup. As I have 30 GB's of Data now, so, 100/150 GB Space will be enough to keep 3 Days Backup. Ram/CPU isn't the factor. But, it should have 1 TB Bandwidth at least @ 100 mbps/1 Gbps Port.

Any Recommendation?

:-)

    Backupsy is pretty good.

  • What about Amazon S3/Glacier?

    Isn't it so expensive?

  • I looked at the Amazon S3 prices today and they seemed quite high. Backupsy is much better.

Yeah, I have noted them but KVM is little difficult to me. Isn't there any OpenVZ Provider?

  • @ehostlab - Delimiter has a non-LEB VPS - 100GB disk, 1.5GB RAM, unlimited traffic $20/month, its called VPS Unlimited 100. Its OpenVZ based.

It depends on how fast you move your data from S3 to Glacier

    1 week daily backups in S3 = 20€/month

    3 months twice-a-week backups in Glacier = 7.70€/month

Assuming you're moving big tars (small files would cost more, as it uses more PUTS)

Well KVM isnt difficult at all. And your files are even more safe.

My decision is about final for Backupsy. Just, I was roaming around if there is any other provider. What's the port speed at Backupsy? Anyone would like to tag serverian? I'm in Mobile. :(

    @serverian

  • You may try @Fliphost (50GB/30TB) for $18/yr :)

  • We can provide this with 100GB HDD and 1Gbps port (1TB) for $15/mo (get 25% xmas off too).

    Pm if intrested.

    Thanks

    Getting 250 GB @ $5 at Backupsy :)

Backupsy is good, better as some other hosts here.

Hmmm, there are much more disk-efficient ways of building redundancy -- things like rdiff-backup.

  • Backupsy/Fliphost/BuyVM storage VMs with rsnapshot or rdiff-backup FTW!
