Btw the Ryzen deal i got for $6 turned out be 3900x, still looks promising, will do some checks here and there after Monday.

    Where? RN?

Nope, another provider on Mega Thread. Which one only TrK can confirm.

Oh kk. I was thinking when did I miss that $6 Ryzen plan here.

My Racknerd Ryzen is also 3900x at Los Angeles location. This one I am upgrading all the resource giveaways I won.

How many have you won and what's the specs now at, with the recurring price? All of this if you don't mind sharing.

This year, I won 1GB and 512gb ram I think. And 1 core. Currently at 4.5G RAM and 4 cores. Recurring around $32.

I wish I had upgraded the 7950x last year, but latency is high for us. That was at NewYork.

How high is the latency for you?
For me new york is 140 160ms and La is 220 280ms

It was around 300ms. LA is around 220ms for me as well. EU locations I get 140 to 160

Europe is the best for me as I'm getting 50 80 ms
What's the lowest asian vps latency you have?

EU is so far away man , we need more asia deals

Eu still works, untill there's asia that is

even SG is too far away need more servers in india go go go go go

Me getting same avg pin for my hyd and sg nodes. It's fine I guess, and Netherlands with 1ms behind.

Pune node I have has 30 to 40ms ping for me. I think Bangalore one with DO was round 28ms.

Bangalore DO is prem network, was really good in my hands for two years or so. Dropped it due to bw limitations.

Digital Ocean has B'lor? How much were you paying for it?

Yup, was using it for some years. It was $5+GST when they started. But now they increased prices pretty much. And introduced normal and premium server type of differences.

Oh, that's unfair then. 100% increase in price is too much. Might change though when many providers start adopting B'lor.

Now their client base is corporate, they don't worry much about users like us now.

One advantage we have with them is , one click upgrade and downgrade to plans, with hourly pricing.

I will go with htznr instead of DO now, been there liked it and no bw limitations. I don't usually cross the threshold but once crossed I expect some short of leeway until it resets.

But isn't latency high with others in EU? With DO and others with local location, my web almost loads instantly.

It works great with cdn ofcourse with 5g and such it just doesn't matter nowadays. I can load heavy websites located in US without any cdn in 1 second, it depends on various factors. The location matrix just doesn't seem real for me any longer.

There wasn't gst chargeable when they launched and suddenly there was a mail adding GST, that was hilarious ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Yup, after they start business operations, they had to add. I used Linode for many years, but after DO added India I moved to DO.

Now only node in India I have is with Oracle. Stopped DO and there was also another one cloudrino or something had one node with them as well but it was technically just geo located in India, servers were physically located in turkey and romania. Talk about irony.

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ whats the use if the servers are not in our preferred location.

They hid the fact that they are not located in India only there IPs are. Was kinda lame when I found it. Also I am fine with EU the laws requiring logs in India is something I don't support. My ISP keeps my logs and any provider in India will keep your logs for atleast 12 months as per the ministry directive. I just no longer prefers indian servers.

Thats just cheating. Yeah, EU laws are the best when it comes to data protection, or consumer protection. ๐Ÿ‘

That's one of the reason I am leaning towards EU servers. Man i don't really want to let go of RN NL server but it's costly and I can no longer justify that.

I am somewhat OCD, so I usually check before anything. For me the latency is pretty evident when using ssh terminals. India, and SG they are almost instant. EU is somewhat ok. US locations are like i type, i wait, i type.. ๐Ÿ˜‹

My internet connection also plays role in this latency though.

It was idling(well almost half of servers do that) but then I remembered oh I had this server heh? Just ran some tasks and shit but when I was setting up a gre tunnel to route my home traffic from that server I saw that pinging the strange gateway IP, did some digging, run tests, and finally it was out of the shell. I cross checked it by running some tests again and again.

Bunny and free CF works great for my use case, and believe me none of clients have ever complained me about slow loading. Most are happy how fast their website loads. With just a little magic of optimization and in memory caching even wp works faster. Although a strong server is required to process the backend tasks. I have also seen plenty of Indian websites loading much slower than those served with cdn. I am thinking of building an image cdn for my next project with on the go compression and resizing. Will be deployed on bunny and CF altogether and see if it viable to use in production if decided to go with it. It will surely do a good impact of future projects to come.

Yeah, CDN to the rescue. But they are costly as well. Which one you use normally?

I am somewhat OCD, so I usually check before anything. For me the latency is pretty evident when using ssh terminals. India, and SG they are almost instant. EU is somewhat ok. US locations are like i type, i wait, i type.. ๐Ÿ˜‹

My internet connection also plays role in this latency though.

Used Bunny for a client. And DO's spaces CDN. Never tried CF.

Yup, optimization and caching is must for the dynamic sites.

I just no longer prefers indian servers.

how did you end up finding out? Do a traceroute or something?

Yeah, interested to know about this too

It was idling(well almost half of servers do that) but then I remembered oh I had this server heh? Just ran some tasks and shit but when I was setting up a gre tunnel to route my home traffic from that server I saw that pinging the strange gateway IP, did some digging, run tests, and finally it was out of the shell. I cross checked it by running some tests again and again.

Oh I see, my dublin vps's yabs shows new york location and I'm wondering whether the server is based in the us or just the IP han't been updated yet?

You got it mate, most of time clients do need dynamic portals, when they can just do whatever they want. Be it update pages, writing blog, etc etc. and I move those on shared they don't hog much resources.

Might be the case of ip geo location, my home lab(currently not connected to internet just private network) was once showing me in Netherlands instead of India cause the ipdb wasn't updated for that range. Sed I have to let go of my ASN and ranges as they are not longer free and require yearly payments.
