@brueggus - some interesting locations for DNSCrypt and I think/hope within your budget.

I already use their services for some locations but won't expand further. Their support hasn't been overwhelming when I needed it and they don't run their own network, so if things break they need to forward it to their data center and so it may take a week or two until it gets resolved. Or it doesn't get resolved ever.

My experience as well, my nodes from last year have thankfully expired and I'm never going back to LET Box / Smart Host. I had bought a few nodes at different locations (which was a huge selling point) and more then half experienced massive packet loss (or just fantastically terrible performance). I was told it was my firewall by the unhelpful tech while simultaneously being told they were being DDoS'd. These servers were running nearly identical spec + configs (managed by Ansible or NixOS) and all the other LET providers were doing just fine.

    Please do your research.

In the beginning I was enthusiastic about all the locations they offered, but in the end they were worthless beyond idling.

@letbox Can you please advise why your Trustpilot reviews are so bad ?

I have been their customer (both letbox and smarthost) for years, and have nothing but positive experience with them. I wouldn't trust trustpilot as much.
    Shawn runs a tight ship.

  • Already purchased, hope it works well

If you prefer, I can also post a screenshot of my favorite ticket of all time where I had to buy a second service to convince you that there's an issue with your network in SLC rather than with my local config. (Both services have been refunded eventually.)

Good hardware and network consider this is a less poplar location and I pick here to avoid crowds.

I already use their services for some locations but won't expand further. Their support hasn't been overwhelming when I needed it and they don't run their own network, so if things break they need to forward it to their data center and so it may take a week or two until it gets resolved. Or it doesn't get resolved ever.

Are you using their Singapore location?

No. A handful of US locations.

We don't own the 30+ data centers or networks we operate on, and are at the mercy of our data center / network vendors on such issues. Most respond/act pretty promptly, while others may not be as quick, or can take awhile if it is a complex/strange issue. For the most part, our vendors have been pretty reliable and we replace those that are not. But when you operate in 30+ data centers, and growing, you are going to have issues here and there unfortunately. Good luck finding a host that operates in so many locations, that does run their own networks, and sells at the LET budget prices...pretty rare if not non-existent. Atleast with us you know we are a stable long-term provider, that will remain in business, and we are on top of such issues, even if once in a blue moon we have delays due to issues outside of our control.

I just tested it, and working fine.
Discount code not applicable to a monthly service term.

  • Is it possible to change locations if I chose one by mistake?

Manual process, which we like to avoid.
It becomes problematic when clients order service, decide they don't like the IP auto-assigned and want to keep changing until they get one they like.
It's a game spammers and abusers try to play, which we do our best to avoid.
We are also priced for automation, not manual intervention.

We typically allow it one time, for a reasonable request / valid reason.
Changing over and over again, or doing it on multiple services frequently is a no though.
In those cases, you should be cancelling services and ordering in a new location, OR, better yet, go with a VPS Resource/Reseller Pool product...which allows you to spin up/down VPS on your own.

Also, this would be handled via support ticket only, changing location in billing system will not relocate your VPS.

It would not have been limited unless you were abusing the port, and affecting other clients on the same node.
