I don't know how other people's experiences have been with KC, but personally I've seen nothing but out-dated, overpriced hardware from a company that hasn't upgraded it's web design since the early 2000's. It's one of the most inexplicable things when it comes to locations (given it's as central as central gets) and outside of the occasional tornado (like Dallas) - it's as safe as it gets.

If you're talking about wholesaleinternet/nocix, I wouldn't call their offers overpriced. And you can guess where 99% of people providing services in Kansas end up colocating :) (not that there's anything wrong with this since their facility is pretty decent)

I felt spoiled with Terrahost @ Subtropolis!

And for folks that may be interested...

Soooo... can I upgrade the 2 that I got yesterday to this deal? difference is 2gb ram ea... I'll even toss ya the $9 difference/year for each... Invoice 107027

Since Terrahost had left KC, I'd struggle to name a trustworthy host in KC so now at least I can say there's at least one!

In KC, I remain quite happy with my dedis at Patmos (formerly Joe's Datacenter) and WSI/NOCIX/Datashack, as well as my VPS from Greencloud. I don't find there to be a lack of "trustworthy" providers in the area.

That said, it's always nice to have one more option! :)

I should have indicated trustworthy with hardware that's been released within the past 5 years. There's absolutely nothing wrong with any of those guys but when it came to offerings, Terrahost blew them all out of the water.

I was with Joe's for a decade and stayed on with them a few months into Patmos and bailed. Stupid to be paying for a dedicated server at over $40/mo when a $15/mo VDS in another location blows it out of the water in every metric possible. I liked Joe's when they were running it. After they left, I left, I had zero incentive to stay.

Did the same thing when Nick A left Ramnode.

I don't care about the brand, I care about the people.

Well, this is LowEndTalk, not HighEndTalk. ;)

Maybe my perspective is different because I bought my server from Joe's when it was half that price. I've had it so long, I'm on the second actual server.

Not gonna lie. Saw the thread get bumped. Saw you bumped it. Ran in thinking I may have actually made it on-time and in a thread I might have a chance at a flash deal not in the BF thread. Saw it wasn't. Cried a little inside. Did a 12 stages of grief speed run. Moved on.

Here let me set this scene for you..

See that guy in the white shirt? Let's replace that with lets say...a insanely good deal of a server.
Let's say that the ground is an uhh... an automatically generated invoice awaiting payment sitting on my account
We'll cast the other 2 guys on the truck as LET.

See how those two guys don't even see what happened? They just keep looking forward?

    Just saying....

But seriously, got a 15 mile hike with some friends planned tomorrow and phones are completely useless but I'm sure @api is definitely over there like
