Isn't MC single threaded or has something changed in the last 8 years since I last hosted a server

I meant more personal friends server but these are both true. Minecraft is slighly more multithreaded then 8 years ago tho but yes ur point is valid.

Render thread is still single threaded. Folia solves this, but no one really knows how well it'll run on 8 cores. Small servers are 100% good and okay for this tho (Deal, not Folia).

Folia is an awesome software - 2b2t runs on it and it runs perfect now - I know they have done public tests where it can hit a 128 thread epyc system pretty hard.

I think it's CEPH from what I remember (not direct attached NVMe)

Maybe you confused with other German provider?

This is their raw submission, I try to be extra careful this time:

Specifications: Root Server Package L – 8 CPU Cores, 30 GB RAM, 300 GB NVMe
    Price: €8.99/month

    The order web page says:

"300 GB CEPH SSD Speicher" - so I assume that page is correct (maybe they're using CEPH over NVMe SSDs?)

Just nit picking - it's a great offer and I don't think there's any issue as such.

No, Prepaid-Host does use a huge CEPH cluster for storage.

They had huge issues with CEPH when I got my first first servers from them, but they seriously scaled up their CEPH cluster and it's been smooth sailing since then.

In this case I just follow what they sent to me, need them to clarify though.

I thought they shared CEPH cluster with @ProHosting24 ? Might be way off

I think it's CEPH on a nvme backend, not a raw direct nvme, I've seen their benchmarks before

Yep i am the one managing it. :)

The ph24 hci pve/ceph cluster has been migrated to a cephadm based deployment, then i created a new pool for the pph machines which then got migrated while we emptied pph pve/ceph osds one by one and added them back to the big cephadm deployment.

This resulted in a bigger ceph deployment for both of us obviously.

Read more about it on the pph blog:
