There's been a decently large proxy botnet creating accounts, triggering a password reset, and sometimes placing orders, and most WHMCS hosts these days. They use random/sometimes fake gmail accounts as the destination, but also sometimes icloud.
Spamexperts has even flagged these legit emails as spam now because some of their own users get the bounces.

Ah, when I tried self-hosting email, I recall issues with iCloud almost ALWAYS being correlated to being listed at Proofpoint

There was a time when godaddy was a dollar for a .com with no requirements for multi year registrations or additional caveats for transfer. I had like a hundred domains bcoz of that
now I think it's not so easy anymore. The domain industry has gone crazy expensive. I used to think of namesilo as the good guys that I cud always rely on. Now I am slowly transferring out a few dozen domains from them to cloudflare.
