Does anybody else feel a slowdown on LET? I mean, the page takes more than usual time to refresh.

it happens when the BF sales are near.

Didn't notice it last time. I joined late. Maybe that's why.

Maybe and mostly due to time zone differences.

But, I am seeing a considerable slowdown now. Refreshes taking 5-10 seconds.

It's your internet, it's fine for me. try turning on warp and see if it makes any difference.

CF warp? Is that what you mean?

yup that only, a VPN to quickly test my internet.

Sorry I am a noob with this stuff.

that's the right thing, right there.

Thanks man. I hope using that isn't a ground for getting thrown out of LET.

Not until now, you will be the first case.

Not gonna take that risk, but, I thank you for your suggestion. Slow LET is better than no LET!

You can just try it on mobile first, logged out :joy:

Has Noob's refreshes been ratelimited? Find out next time on.... RACKNERD GIVEAWAYS!

Leave the commentary to @Beniskickbutt  He's the master.

Hey dont diss the game show ad break!

BTW, hoe much are you earning for these ads?

  • @DaDeveloper Been meaning to ask you. Is this your first RN BF thread? Or, have you participated before as well?

  • HYPE FOR THE RACKNERD CHEF!

oh man looks like i will need a server that can restream hls, my current go to is really slowing down.

    Why restreaming?

Cause the usual streams are lagging(issue with ISP) and don't wanna use VPN, so restreaming might be better for my use case.

  • The refreshes are suddenly back to normal now. Guess, someone else at home was hogging the internet.

This would be quite the plot twist. Perhaps the plot twist that noob was mentioning many moons ago. An internal sabotage going on via the low end talk admins to limit the rate at which noob can retireve new posts. Just a slight speed bump to slow down the rate at which he can continue to post. This opens a new opportunity for a shake up in the leader boards like one has never seen before. Perhaps this is all an effort to make the grind much more exciting! The plot twists abound so you never know how this may truely end! It can be any ones game so let us see how this progresses from here on out!

any idea how to check the CPU % usage for a racknerd vps?

I can see HDD and BW in the SolusVM Control Panel, but not the CPU? 🤔

TOP and HTOP works fine for me.

Didn't know you could restream. Never tried that. Is there a specific service that provides it for free, or do you just use a VPS to restream?

gotcha - I was hoping there would be something without needing to ssh into the machine

But that can work for now

  • Tomorrow, I am gonna add a cooling fan to my old Android box, if I have the time. It has this kind of heat sink:-

Any ideas if I should do inlet or outlet on these? Internet is divided.

I would suggest using something like htop or top via ssh as a good tool to see cpu usage. top should be built in to almost every linux distribution out there I believe. If you like bare bones, it is possible for something like top to be removed however so perhaps your mileage may vary. This does require you to SSH into your VPS though so if you are alooking for a solution to see this from the dashboard on their website I am not quite sure if there is a way.

PErhaps if you win another vps, you can setup a web app with a dashboard to display stats such as this from all of your other VPS! You can build a web app that display CPU, RAM, disk usage. That would be quite interesting. A custom racknerd monitoring solution for rack nerd services powered by rack nerd services! The ulimate power tool made possible by rack nerd!

Oh for that, i believe you can utilize Hetrix tools or maybe you can also deploy DIY solutions but i won't recommend them unless you have hands-on experience with them.

honestly, anything works, android boxes aren't designed to be that hotter anyway unless you are doing some overclocking.

Nah, I am gonna run Jellyfin on Docker and when it's transcoding, it can get hot. I can disable transcoding, but, if someone plays with the unofficial client, I want it to be able to handle that.

The refreshes are suddenly back to normal now. Guess, someone else at home was hogging the internet.

Good to hear and welcome back! Now we can get back to business as usual! I noticed your rate at which you reply had suffered a little bit during the time your internet was letting you down. You will need to make up a little bit to get you back on track but I am certain you will not let this little bump in the road get you down. Just keep the determination going and you will be right back where you should be and likely even a little more! Keep up the hard work that you have shown so far and remember these little bumps in the road are nothing in the grand scheme of things! They are just little tests to see how we would react and use it to your advantage. Show how you can build your character and over come these little obstacles that get thrown in our way. If any one can turn around from this I know it is you!

Thanks, man. Actually, it wasn't the internet that slowed me down. I have been taking it light today to cover up a pile of pending work, in hopes to spend more time with the Chef come tomorrow.

why not get something better than android box for jelly, i believe i saw a mini PC with N5105 going for around 10K(new) and i5-4th gen refurbished mini PCs for around 6K. Would be much better.

Uh oh that is unfortunate. I hope you do feel better. It seems life is hitting you at all angles today. Do not let it get to your head and keep your self steady. You will over come this obstacle to I just know it. First the internet issues and now this is coming up as well. You are truly being put to the test. Let your mind stay in the zone and do not let this wild cards throw you for a loop. In the end it may mean you need to work a little harder but I know you can pull through. You have some how hard you can fight to the end throughout this thread. Let that strength shine though now and help power you through. If at any point you need rest, do not hestitate. Know that you will have to work a little harder tomorrow but I know you can power through. Should you chose to rest, I know that in no time you will be back on your feet and right back where you need to be

Presently, don't have the funds to even get that. Moreover, the Android box has been in the junk drawer for quite long now. Wanted to put it to good use.

Docker is something I still want to give a try. Now that I have won a 1GB VPS in dallas, I am going to play around with setting up docker to use that to help setup and deploy applications and environments. I also have been wanting to learn some ansible in conjuction with that. I am honsety not too familiar with either so there may be some overlap in the capabilties of the 2. Now that I have the spare 1GB vps I have won, I can practice some more remote deploy ment strategies and other things to ease my process when I do need to scale out or bring up another instance somewhere. Tools these days almost make things too easy so I should learn to start using them
