The billing system error at ColoCrossing caused my credit to be overcharged by $25.75.

I originally had a credit of $103 in my account. I purchased a dedicated server on October 23, 2024, for $25, plus a gateway fee of $0.75, making the total monthly fee $25.75. The problem is that on October 23, I paid $51.50 for two months of service, which expires on December 23, 2024. Then, on November 23, 2024, my credit was automatically charged twice at $25.75, totaling $51.50. However, my dedicated server’s expiration date is January 23, 2025, and my credit balance is $0. I want to point out that the service duration and billing costs do not match. Logically, $103 should be enough to cover four months of service until February 23, 2025. However, ColoCrossing's sales customer service responded that only $25.75 was charged, applied to invoice number 333488. @ColoCrossing

Why was invoice number 333488 paid with two payments of $25.75, totaling $51.5, but the service period only increased by one month, from December 23, 2024, to January 23, 2025? This has resulted in my credit limit being reduced to zero. Please provide a reasonable explanation! @ColoCrossing

ColoCrossing, I would like to ask where the extra $25.75 that was deducted from my credit went?

Anyone who has a card on file should get it removed immediately. (This is actually advice in general. Need it? Enter your details, charge it and then delete the card off the file. Can't be used and/or abused if there's nothing there.)

While you're at it - go purchase a server from a proper host that isn't a complete shitshow 24/7

There was another claim about billing system errors involving ColoCrossing recently.
Not saying that it's intentional as I highly doubt it, but just that it should be looked into by ColoCrossing.

Got million dollar invoice. It was fixed minutes later. But it did raise some questions about billing quality

We sincerely apologize for the error that occurred. We’ve added $25.75 back to your account to resolve the issue.

Additionally, we’ve flagged this matter for our developers to investigate why the credit was able to double-apply, ensuring this does not happen again.

Thank you for your understanding, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further concerns.

  • It's amazing that a company's ticket system can't solve issues but LET can.

I have received the $25.75. Thank you, ColoCrossing, for the quick resolution! I hope this kind of error does not occur again next time.

    LET is still efficient!

That's why I don't raise tickets on amazon but tag them in fb, twitter.

They act much promptly than from the ticket system

Use https://privacy.com/ if you are in a place that they support. Maybe someone else knows other companies that do the same in other places. You can limit cards by max total, per month, or a year. Can pause them whenever you want and they are merchant locked.

    Revolut does this too!

  • I think I had checked into both. Privacy.com had way too many red flags. I'll check into Revolut though!
