I got off for only few hours and I'm seeing 300+ notifications  I gotta read 30 pages now

    its fun, believe me

How did they burn this much pages in so little time haha

You never know when people have some serious discussions.

Wow Trk you're so close to me, stop tailgating!
Talk about a major advancement in one day! that's impressive bro, I don't think I can keep up. I might have to settle with the lovely sm7b microphone.

I don't know why people hate the RN dedi, :joy:

i dislike all servers, because after X time i have to pay

why not just own the hardware and host in the basement.

My isp wants to charge me $100 for a dedicated IP :)

Lol seriously? you can get something from orange cloud for cheap.

I just checked again, and looks like they got better deals now, but you have to be a business... and still, my line is not eligible for 1gbps so renting a vps is way more cost efficient

Lol why you need 1fbps connection at home unless you are going to host basement racks.

My line isn't even eligible for 100mbps. I just didn't want to break your heart

    Why? Old age dsl cables?

    Yeah I'm still using adsl

Bro you should upgrade, unless it's too damn costly.

I can't, our neighborhood is full of old buildings and they are still expanding fiber to the whole city, only new buildings have fiber, so the fast network I can get is 4g but sadly it's neither stable nor reliable. I'll just have to wait for now.

I was assuming you were from UAE, KSA, etc. where I have heard they got pretty fast internet.

No, I'm from Algeria, we have fast speeds & cheap plans but the isp upgrades are happening slowly.

Oh I see. Got introduced a bit to the culture there with Disco Maghreb. Would love to visit the country someday. What's the speciality in terms of tourism?

Oh Disco maghreb! you definitely heard that hit from dj snake.... is that what introduced you to it? We are genuinely helpful to foreigners and do our best to ensure a great experience. There are no scammers here since we don’t have many tourists. Algeria is the largest country in Africa, and we have it all, sea, mountains, lakes,desert.... you name it!

Oh yah. That was on loop a few months ago. I believe Snake's mother is somehow related to Algeria. Not sure. Heard that somewhere.

You got it right! Yep, his mom is algerian

Knew it. He loves doing this cultural thing. Magenta riddim was shot in India with local Indian actors.

Same thing with Disco maghreb, I totally forgot the song was called that too! You know "Disco Maghreb" is a record label that's where the song title came from. How about Magenta riddim, is it the same thing?

DJ Snake always popping good things here and there.

He does. The first song I listened to was Turn Down for What.
Oh yah, forgot. He also has another song that shows India - Lean On.

Major lazer, that trio is also awesome.

    Yah, it's a good song.

Kudos, for a good song πŸ‘πŸ‘

It is, but, I am not gonna lie. It isn't the best in DJ Snake's library.

Dk snake got too many hits for the best song in the list.

My favourites are probably Get Low and Magenta Riddim.

Dj snake is good too btw

He is. You should read up on how he got that name.

    Too many pages 😌 πŸ“„

I meant Google, not go through the pages. :D

Could you share the prompt, I could use that circle techy design

A visually appealing digital artwork for a premium web hosting service called 'RACKNERD'. The scene features a friendly, modern workspace with a smiling technician in casual attire interacting with a glowing server rack, symbolizing personalized service. In the background, there are branded items such as backpacks, thermoses, and mugs prominently displaying the 'RACKNERD' logo, adding a professional and personal touch. Around the technician, a digital aura of interconnected cloud symbols, speed icons, and shields represents the network's reliability, security, and speed. The warm and vibrant office environment with soft lighting and plants enhances the approachable and dynamic atmosphere.

Wasn't expecting such a huge one. Thanks a lot for that. Anyways, this is what the same prompt in DeadlyChemist's DeepAI output:-

That guys looks extremely creepy for some reason, looks evil no matter how you look.

AI gen images are known for many things. Let me list some of em:-
    1. Messed up hands.
    2. Freaky or creepy faces that look like AI's ultimate aim is world domination.
    3. Messed up spelling.
    4. Forced diversity

Welcome. You know the tips. Keep them handy. See if you can get a faster connection just for the days chef is here

I'll end up using a vps... I never tried to rdp into it, I'll have to activate the graphical UI first

Don't leave it to the last moment. But, not sure how much of an advantage that would give you if you have issues connecting to the GUI on your ADSL connection.

That's funny on it's own though

It is. But, not so fun when you realise it when the flash sale has already been announced.

No flash sales till now though, sed...

Was expected. Flash sales are a Chef specialty.

But we do need some flash sales πŸ“ΈπŸ“Έ

Ofcourse we do. Looking for a 4GB RAM VPS this time around. Lots of work to do before the Chef enters.

Yay, but they no longer have NL location, was hoping to get something for a project migration.

For me location doesn't matter. Just need that raw memory and core power for any project that I can throw at it.

Location usually matters when I am not gonna deploy load balancers and cdn.

Location is important because load times matter

Also, I know this is a recurrent question and can find various resources online, but would really love some input from actual users.

Nginx vs OLS considering I wanna do everything from scratch not use a pre-made Panel. This is what I will need apart front the engine: MariaDB, PHP, email server. Priority is lower RAM and CPU usage, easier caching mechanism for a custom website.

Thoughts? Any tutorials for beginners would also be helpful.

Spoken like a true nerd! aaghh I wanna do that too, but my intuition says no no

Go with the nerdness forget the intuition.

I'm not in that zen state to learn anything new right now

Why what happened? got into trouble with adsl connection? i hope not.

ahahha, I think I missed your reply about the steps to secure the cables and connect them. care to say again?

Find the junction box first nearby, then calculate the cable you need, ask your ISP to patch your fiber cable with their junction box and get a pon converter for fiber to ethernet. If your ISP is willing to help you out, it will be done within a day.

I think the nearest fibre junction box is 2-3km. time to forget about it?

This also depends on the price of fibre optic cable. Enquire around. Since your area is up and coming when it comes to fibre, chances are prices are pretty high.

Fibre cable isn't that costly honestly, but maintaining it is a different story.

Yah, easily breakable. I was just talking generally. They used to be costly in my area when there were few fibre providers, but, with an increased coverage, the cable cost also went down.

Might be, I am talking about in 2017, wasn't that costly for me, paid like $20 for 250m cable.

That's pretty cheap compared to the price I was offered. Don't remember exactly, but, it was a ridiculous price for a few metres here.

Lol might be the local ISP trying to earn a quick buck, i always purchase the cables from the the vendors who usually supplies to the ISPs in my area.

Shoulda tried that back then. But, glad I was patient instead. Got my connection without paying a penny extra for the cables.

But you technically don't own the cable with that, with me I have a 6 core cable that's mine only, I have two ISPs one main and one backup on two cores, one is used by by my friend as he lives nearby I got one core for him, 3 remaining.

  • I’ve been using RackNerd for months, and their uptime has been flawless. My websites are always online, which is critical for my business.

Idk, I don't rely on AI so I might be weirder than the AI.

Me, as well. Apart from the text to image during these threads, I don't use AI as well.

I don't use text to images as well, call me wierd I don't care πŸ˜‚

No, you're not weird. It proves you are 100% human and would love to keep it that way.

Fortunately, not for the project I own. Also researching CDN to fix that as well. Any recommendations?

Bunny, cheap and fast, and CF if you want to throw it under the bed after some time.

Idk, I don't rely on AI so I might be weirder than the AI.> @noob404 said:

Who here active on this thread right now hasn't met the chef yet, ie., hasn't been a part of BF celebration at RN before this year?

ME ME ME I NEVER ATTENDED THESE THINGS BEFORE

Fortunately, not for the project I own. Also researching CDN to fix that as well. Any recommendations?

Just use cloudflare 🀣 easy + works so best πŸ˜…

Doesn't work best for me unless on paid plan, free plan i guess just works for hobby projects other than that, I would suggest bunny or keycdn.

What specific things you miss in free plan

Free plan is better. BIlling on paid can be messed up.
