i want to start facetting stones... the machines cost 500-1000 bucks
then i can buy any crappy stone, cut and polish it and have a less crappy stone, but something that would last indefinetly
im fine with small things (0204 resistors without a microscope)
i already did some jewlery ish...
but i want to cut my own stones and maybe 3d print (order most likely) jewlery and well, fit the stone into something nice

I just started a new vps with 2.5 gb with the current black friday deal. It seemed like an awesome deal compared to what else I could find out there. Also has a cool community to boot. If I could score lifetime upgrades for it, that would be the cherry on top. I am very happy with what I got though. perhaps I will get the privliedge to grow its capabilities like you have! That would be a dream come true!
Oh, I thought I'd need at least 400h to be experienced enough to do some personal automation with python. 100h doesn't sound much compared to the time it could save.
I hope that I can get some nice upgrades, I sadly have not bought a 2.5 gb one, as I had not known about the BF deal and got a 11.11 deal, and I regret it. Wish I could pay the diffrence but yea dont think thats gonna happen

Well you can always pick up the 2.5GB now and let the other one expire! Use it as a playground or setup one as a hot/cold backup. Perhaps use it to test out some type of distributed systems in a production like environment. I am sure you can find something to use the one you got from the 11.11 deal for at least a year! I have so many random projects, typically do not have enough places to put them all!

but my interests are different...
i use python for different tasks, im not a one language developer...
if i know python is bad, ill pick something else
and you dont need 400h for personal automation... you can write something decent with 50h exp
will just take longer

Ah that is a very interesting hobby. It sounds very expensive as well. The stones themselves are pretty expensive I would imagine as well right? I guess if you are talking about fixing up stones, maybe you can find some great deals at garage and estate sales to fix up. So much jewerly at those things. I have no idea what makes somethng quality or not though. If someone handed me somethng that cost 100 vs 1000, I dont think i could tell much of a difference, but again i am probably not the target market

cheap stones are usually synthetic (i dont mind) or have lots of inclusions (like bubbles..) and or have crappy color
again, im looking to learn it, make something stunning and move to another hobby
thats one of my hobbies, i quit yt due to their crappy policy, plus EU laws i nearly fully lost interest in chemistry
