Waiting patiently for Storage Box 1 TB activation by 2 days. I hope it worth the patience. All the other services that I have from Hostbrr are amazing.

Ditto. I am happy sitting and waiting for even a week or two for my activation. So long as I get access to storage box and it works even with low speeds.

That's a loyal customer you got @labze . Make sure to keep him happy, even if it takes going to great lengths.

I am trying to do that with every client :-)

nice, i'm also waiting for activation

  • @labze

is DirectAdmin Storage Boxes files can access from public?
i need it to store asset files such images or pdf

  • Storage Boxes also has a public folder: public_html ✅

  • I want to ask, is directadmin storage box good for image hosting for blogs?

  • @KeqingWangy said: is directadmin storage box good for image hosting for blogs

    Yes

    Yes

Are the connection speeds and image loading fast?

  • I see NextCloud/OwnCloud mentioned many times. Is it possible to install it on the storage box considering root access isn’t available? Or is it just about using it as a remote storage location for Next/OwnCloud instances running elsewhere?

Yes, it is possible to install both of them with just a few clicks using Softaculous.

Download speed is good. Upload struggles

I'd say depending on the amount of images you're going to store to rather opt for a vps / hosting with NVMe. Some 50 - 100 GB offers should be decently cheap anyways.

This one here I'd rather use for semi-cold storage that needs to be accessed every now and then. Saves a lot of nerves with that expectation.

    I'm getting confused.

Currently I only store about 50GB of images, but looking at the future I will need at least 1TB.

You dont need root for nextcloud, it is PHP.

It's not about the number of images, it's about the number of blog visitors.

Yup, its possible. I installed Nextcloud, but haven't been able to upload anything. Keep that in mind.
    Also, the performance fluctuates heavily.

    Slow
    Fast

Did you set up domain properly with all the https stuff etc

  • @egoror said: Did you set up domain properly with all the https stuff etc

Yup. Did multiple installations, with softaculous and with nextcloud web installer. Can't upload anything. I'm new to DA, I admit. But I did the same with another hostbrr service I have, and everything worked as it's supposed to.

rm -rf your home directory and reconfigure everything from the beginning

  • I sure do hope it gets activated before it renews

Eh, try to upload something onto the ftp server. Might as well be another full cache that's written to the disks, cause uploading doesn't really work for me for a few hours too. (Just a few megabyte-steps then it stops and resumes after quite some time for another few steps)

If uploading onto the ftp works instantly, then it might be your Nextcloud instance, yeah.

Ok, I see those under Softaculous auto-installer options now. Previously, I could see only a few apps, which made me think only selected apps were made available for users.

Removed domain from DA, changed the nextcloud domain and everything. Couldn't get it to work.

Uploading file to DA file manager works. Nextcloud can see the file. Otherwise, NC thinks I only have 2B space available.

Looking in to what is going on. A bit of a bumpy start. A second server will do good for this.

  • Any ryzen or epyc deals this BF?

  • ftp1 looks completely down now 😅
