The packaging was damaged a bit on mine, but, 0 damage to the backpack.

Blame the airport staff for that.

Not the airport staff the customs department check each parcel by opening them. Idk but almost all my parcels were opened and taped.

Yah, that does happen, but, the damage to the outer box is mostly from mishandling by airport staff. This is esp. true for packages shipped through non-DHL,UPS, Fedex services, eg.- USPS.

My aramex packages arrive in good condition though, just opened and tucked back. Nothing more nothing less. Just sometimes too much cess and import duty on top of tax.

I've had great experience with Aramex as well. Cheaper rates, and at times, cheaper duties as well.

Yup aramex is good, but it's always a little bit late while fedex is super fast for me.

My three fedex parcels were duty free (might be due to cheaper bill of under $100).

What do you do when the duties are exceptionally high? Any appeal process and tips?

If it's a direct process you can't do anything, like if the parcel is not held regarding the duties, you can't even contact the officials and submit your proofs.

But, what if you have already received the duties notice?

They have two processes for custom clearance one is rapid where the shipping company pay up the customs amount asked us in their invoice another is where custom clearance due on us. so thats that.

Oh yes, forgot to mention. If a shipping company has already taken care of the customs, it's pretty much a done deal. When shipping with USPS and such you are completely responsible for the customs. That's when you can appeal.

Yup. But, if it's extremely insane, you can, in most cases just reject the package, which is auctioned off, I believe. But, you will lose out on money of the product + shipping charges.

The packaging was damaged a bit on mine, but, 0 damage to the backpack.

Blame the airport staff for that.

Not the airport staff the customs department check each parcel by opening them. Idk but almost all my parcels were opened and taped.

Yah, that does happen, but, the damage to the outer box is mostly from mishandling by airport staff. This is esp. true for packages shipped through non-DHL,UPS, Fedex services, eg.- USPS.

My aramex packages arrive in good condition though, just opened and tucked back. Nothing more nothing less. Just sometimes too much cess and import duty on top of tax.

I've had great experience with Aramex as well. Cheaper rates, and at times, cheaper duties as well.

If it's a direct process you can't do anything, like if the parcel is not held regarding the duties, you can't even contact the officials and submit your proofs.

But, what if you have already received the duties notice?

They have two processes for custom clearance one is rapid where the shipping company pay up the customs amount asked us in their invoice another is where custom clearance due on us. so thats that.

Oh yes, forgot to mention. If a shipping company has already taken care of the customs, it's pretty much a done deal. When shipping with USPS and such you are completely responsible for the customs. That's when you can appeal.

Yup. But, if it's extremely insane, you can, in most cases just reject the package, which is auctioned off, I believe. But, you will lose out on money of the product + shipping charges.

The auctioneers will be shipping company they don't handover it to customs(ig)
