Blame the airport staff for that.

My aramex packages arrive in good condition though, just opened and tucked back. Nothing more nothing less. Just sometimes too much cess and import duty on top of tax.

If it's a direct process you can't do anything, like if the parcel is not held regarding the duties, you can't even contact the officials and submit your proofs.

But, what if you have already received the duties notice?

I have read of people actually contacting their Customs office and sending letters to the Customs Commissioner with proper invoices and requests.
