Dataforest/Avoro/PHP-Friends only this time but there was no separate thread so I suppose others been reporting it in here either way.

Probably ask a Moderator to split the thread.

Our connectivity has been restored, both IPv4 and IPv6

v6node looks fine on me both v4 and v6 :)

We will publish a post-mortem with information on what exactly happened. However, I can say that there was no power failure, hardware defect or similar.

All I can say is this was the only major outage in over 5 years or so can't complain as it happens even to the best ones. Thanks for the updates and I'm sure you guys will do your best to make sure this doesn't become a thing anytime soon.

    They are same company :

Were they created from scratch by Dataforest or did Dataforest purchase them?

Neither. PHP-Friends and Avoro merged into dataforest GmbH (which previously didn't exist). See https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/176217/php-friends-news/p1

I wonder why we’re not hiring some LET folks for monitoring rather than operating our own monitoring infrastructure which is far more time consuming and costly :P

As mentioned in a previous posts the outage was caused by our upstream Dataforest.
We’ve reflected this on our status page and have enabled our backup transit.

All connectivity has been restored after roughly 10 minutes.
There will be a separate announcement to clarify how we‘ll prevent this from happening again in the future.

I cannot publish the details yet but we’ll extend our offering with a second location in Frankfurt where most of our infrastructure will be migrated to.
    More details will follow:)

Well imagine at least a 1000 pair of eyes constantly lurking around 24/7. We cover all the shifts as well

  • LET is the best monitoring.
