Trading / charting
Heya... not a day trader. Usually, buy some stocks on RobinHood. Typically medium to long term.
What do you all use for trending/ charting?
I see TradingView, TrendSpider shows up a lot.
Any of these worth? Is there anything else you all use?
Thanks

Don’t
Price Action for medium term / long term analysis
TradingView
Tradingview.com is enough. It's just a tool; what matters most is how you use it.
Exactly, I use price action methodology. I even recommended a book on this topic few months back.
Here is that post —

I only buy and hold market index ETF for loooong term...
Anything over marketed should be avoided. No exceptions, except Apple.

If not active trader, I think Trading View free is enough to do basic analysis.
Any good tutorials to learn one of these?
Edit: removed image because huge on desktop, showed 31 % returns YTD
Trading = selling
And why sell when stocks only go up?
Use the power of AI to work in your favor.
ThinkOrSwim is also an excellent platform as well for charting and analysis
Ouch. You're trailing the S&P 500 by a point and a half.
You are right
But I am happy with overall performance of my trading account. This is my Roth IRA trading account. Where age based mandatory withdrawal is not a must (as compared to traditional 401(k) and gains are tax-free)
— not a trading advice
I love my Roth...I just wish it was bigger. I think everyone wishes that they'd been maniacal savers when they were in kindergarten.

The rumors are that this may be closed by IRS

Did you get the author wrong in that post? I can find the title by a different author, yet the author you mention also has trading books
oops ... that was an example of my fading memory. I mixed up two different books
Thanks @Arkas for catching that.

Before earning my degree in Computer Science, I completed a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. My investment strategy typically involves allocating 80% to VOO/BRK and 20% to bonds. Occasionally, I adjust this to 60% VOO/BRK, 20% bonds, and 20% to hot stocks like NVDA. This approach is informed by my extensive coursework in finance and my prior work and trading experience.
Edit: Actually, the stock market funded my second degree and enabled me to leave a job I disliked. My current investment strategy helps me sleep well at night. I don't focus much on money now, as I have no plans to marry, and my current income is sufficient for my needs.
I guess I am low-end, but I'm not embarrassed by it. I use Tykr.
As a Hawkeye you likely have access to a wealth of insider information.
How is your experience?
Superb! The courses were great too. I got the lifetime deal, I'm not sure If it still exists, but my experience has been very positive.
Beside the joke, my last job had some limitations that I cannot sell within 30 days after I buy. Even I did not have any insider information; that's the company rule.
FOREX 😳
Did I just cross paths with a fellow Berkshire-Hathaway owner?
You're my kind of guy.
True story: A couple years ago I wrote to Warren Buffett. He replied, in long hand. Talk about a treasured family possession.
The problem with BRK is that it's so big now.
