Help My Impulses! Abstinence Advice
Hi all,
First off I hope everyone is staying warm and preparing for an exciting holiday season. I’ve been tracking all the amazing Black Friday deals and here’s what I’ve done so far.
Hold onto my previously limited crunchy BF 3 year deals from last year. Since these go away in two years, I’ve looked at crunchy servers and stuff. Man I need to not buy more idlers! I also have the greencloud deal - going to host some small blogs on this one. Crunchy VPS are all for fun, learning and experimentation.
Now I have been thinking a lot about getting a dedicated server and these dropped in North American. I can stop looking at the website and going all the way to the last checkout screen before stopping myself and saying “why are you about to drop almost $300 on this?” Give me good reasons not to buy this or why it’s a bad deal. Help me, build courage to abstain! Or I will buy two ![]()

Are you going theough FOMO?
If yes, dont purchase this.
Doesn't matter whether you have lot of money to splurge or otherwise.

Don't buy what you don't need. If you might need it some time in the future : don't buy.
"Projects" that aren't reality (yet) don't need a server.
Buying idlers can more expensive than getting the right server for the job when you actually need it.
You only need to buy hardware when you have an adequate task for it - and if you don't it's just GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) that many hobbyists go through, photographers, musicians, etc. etc.
But on the other hand if you cancel several vps to compensate for kimsufi cost then status quo stays the same and go for it.
What is FOMO?
fear of missing out
Fear Of Missing Out
You feel if this goes away you will regret it.
What's your usecase for the server apart from some upgrades and cheap price?
