PayPal Outage

LittleCreekLittleCreek Member, Patron Provider

There appears to be a PayPal outage. Can't login and nobody can make payments even using the API.

The PayPal and eBay APIs are bugs in themselves, eBay had a 50% failure rate on its API calls when I still used it time ago, you needed to repeatedly call the same method multiple times in a loop to succeed. And PayPal had a set of endpoints that would return wrong data at every call. I reported the bugs and no one gave a fuck.

Used earlier today a personal account, had no issues

good, nobody uses that shit anyway.
Keeps asking me for an SMS confirmation every time I make a payment now.

Useless crap, stopped using it whenever I can.

  • Paypal is still very popular payment method offering unmatched safety for buyers. Chargeback are very powerful and brings confidence in shady deals…

Revolut seems to handle disputes faster and quicker than Paypal does.

They also quick to lock up your account. No thanks. Paypal ftw.

Surprisingly I had my personal account locked last month for a transaction I made at a restaurant (wtf?!). They where like: how do you know the merchant, why you made the payment, why such big amount (~ 100 eur)... etc, etc.
Had it suspended for like 2 weeks and re-activated without any conclusion, just: please make sure you use revolut for lawful activities (like eating at a restaurant is sketchy af!).

I don't pay them anything, I get sub 5 minute replies, some of which where retarded yes.

But they never locked my account, however when I for example bought some cloud credit from "scetchy" hosts like IPERWEB, the card got frozen, that is all.

Never the account, but I would not trust them with $$$$ but I do trust them with $$$.
With PayPal I don't even trust them with $$ on my account.

No idea what the fucking difference would be.
You get a shiny designed card, I figure the card reader doesn't judge so I don't care.

A bit higher limits but not really worth the money for me at least.

Well how do you want to pay online? with wooden sticks?
I tried that, they didn't accept that as payment method.

But hell nah, will I never pay Revolut any money.

crypto online, cash in person. never paypal. for me revolut is just a backup if both of those are not available. still use it a lot, on metal, and never had it locked during regular usage

their crypto feature is a joke though, only time i got my revolut locked was for 3 hours once when i sent 10 euro of "tainted" btc as a test (swapped from xmr to btc via changenow), not really tainted and kraken accepts swapped coins with no issue.

revolut is good for what it is, a centralized spyware bank, like all other banks in this world
