Yeah that's what people do, for months, especialy via API. Bulk ordering, hoping for free upgrades, if not, then cancel it.

But upgrades are not visible before the payment?

so everyone called it lottery :)

Updates are only visible with YABS? No update details appear in the OVH dashboard?

usually it will show in dashboard, but with network you have to run iperf test

Yeah they pay for it, or transfer it for a cost and make money. Right now, the new popular is, harvesting these hot deals and offering it to transfer others in return of money.

And by money, I don't mean the server + setup fees, they are asking for extra.

I guess this is the exact definition of scalping right? Just like what people do with concert tickets. New low in humanity.

It's supply and demand. People find it worth even when it's higher than the advertised price, and they're ok with it. Can't blame the scalpers if it's still under high demand :)

I am not blaming anyone, apart from OVH. Allowing people to order via their API en masse is a bad bad idea, just saying this.

Yes, same idea. At least, please allow order through API after BF sale is live :) folks can order even 1 hour before they go live their BF page :)

    KS-LE-1 ?

  • Flash Sale: I rush to buy first. The first orders are standard, the latecomers are awarded prizes.

Black Friday: I drink a good wine and smoke a good cigar, calmly waiting for the first sales to be made. After a few hours, I buy a server. After all, it's a lottery, right? As a result, those who bought first it got an upgrade right away and I, once again, got a standard server.

I WANT TO KNOW WHO I ANNOYED AT OVH!!

    KS-LE-1 ?

    KS-LE-2 1.92TB SSDs

    Thanked by 288xrzs Devotee
  • When's the restocking?

  • I ordered KS-LE-2 in BHS (Canada) 4x 2TB version, delivered, no any upgrades (only network 300m/1g instead of 300/300).

  • About the 12 month commitment, they are of course not willing to change it. Only suggesting that I can cancel the server and get refund. That's a d**k move OVH! But whatever. Guaranteed idle server for next 12 months.

I have one that's powered on, hasn't been upgraded, but the system still can't be installed.

    Oh lucky you.
