I don't doubt that there's a big possibility that the two failing cables were related.
I doubt this is related.
Now you won't get ransomware attack
Ah, come on... No need to make more out of it. Globally speaking, that's a minor, unimportant issue, not a "big outage". Power outages like this, or even bigger incidents, especially in this part of the year happen at random parts of the world regularly.
It's just that this DC is relatively cheap, so many LET hosts use it so we actually know about it.
this is business..

I'm not sure if its just power outage?
"there is smoke development in the high-voltage substation"

My server was down 10 minutes before infra was down, thats how I even managed to create a ticket. After 10 minutes everything went down including provider's website.

Looking forward for more information
Yikes, thats gonna be a few hours of downtime at least.
you need some redundancy on that critical service brother
Yes, there's usually a reason for a power outage... something gets overloaded, burns, and such... :P

Where is the B feed and where is the genset right now?
Have you placed an SLA request?
Update on the power outage in Kerkrade : The cause of the power outage has now been located and efforts are being made to resolve the power outage as soon as possible.

lmao
For clarification; This is not a high voltage substation owned by the DC but owned by the grid operator in that area.
who cares.!!
According to Skylink Staff, the issue with their "Generators" was a Starter batteries dead!
So they don't do any maintenance either?
They did 5 month ago, and as per their statement everything was fine. Which we can see now how "fine" is it!
Status page and information from the grid operator about this outage:

That's the key to cheap price, isn't it? :-D
The power issue is restored now.
xsserver is slowly going up. seeing bgp routes now
We back!
Fixed!
Power was restored roughly 16 minutes ago.
Just Received notification from our MX960 Monitoring. Bgp up.
Everything seems to be booting.
Maybe they did cheap out on the batteries too.
Batteries are not dead in 5 months, especially if they are consistently hooked up to recharge.
I suspect at least one of my providers will not being coming back online, ever. Hope I'm wrong, but Solia.cloud hasn't been active on LET since October and hasn't responded to tickets this month either.
Good luck! But as this is your first bigger mass-outage with that new router I assume things gonna be broken :-D
Not sure if it's related, but I just saw this: https://x.com/visegrad24/status/1858853514291691729?s=19
I forgot... they don't really have a B feed.
When I recall correctly, the A feed is without UPS and the B feed has UPS.
So if the mainline goes and the genset doesn't pick it up, the DC is toast like today.
