Review: ChunkServe
TL,DR: Customer support is friendly, but severely lacking in connecting the dots / getting things fixed. Asks questions like "What's your VPS IPv4?" when there's only one VPS in the account, gets the answer, then still does nothing else until the next day. The issue of the Virtualizor won't reinstall the OS has been going on since Thursday last week. It's now Monday and now the IP address randomly goes to two different VPS's.
Longer Version: I've already spent too much time on this, hoping to overlook the flaws as the price/value was seemingly great, but frustration has a price, too, and I've decided it's just not worth it.
Here's what I eventually put in a support ticket about my initial experience:
I'm trying my best to avoid writing a negative review on L.E.T., but this has been anything but smooth.
First, I signed up and was billed in euros when the ad in in dollars. Not a big difference, but expectations not matching experience starts off on the wrong foot. I know you said in the thread that currency could be changed, but the link should be in the currency used in the ad.
The account setup wasn't instant. It was pending until the next day.
Then the "bonus" for posting in the thread wasn't what I asked for -- yes, I know you said they're awarded at random, but typically on L.E.T. it's request one and get it.
The YABS score was considerably less than the one someone posted in the thread for the same plan.
You said to open a ticket to someone with the same issue. I did. I replied about 15 minutes after you responded then nothing for a whole day.
The next day, today, I opened a new ticket since the original one was seemingly lost.
You replied that you were on it and yet it's seven hours later without an update, and the VPS won't even start.
The price was nice so I decided to give it a chance, but how could you respond to my "hey there" second ticket and then just completely forget about me -again-?
Normally, I never need support so I'm still trying to stay positive, but it's hard.
That was multiple support requests ago. The issues continued. For that issue, support eventually responded to that it was a communication error, that the VPS was working, but Virtualizor still said it was offline.
Eventually, after multiple statements that I can't reinstall the OS/Virtualizor isn't right, I get
"I see what happened
Messaged vitualizor support, will keep you updated"
but seeing that the restock was coming on LET, hours later, I did a support ticket
Until I can reinstall the OS, I can't do anything worthwhile with my VPS. It's been multiple days, multiple support requests.
As I said before, I haven't put anything on it, so if you need to create a new VPS with the same specs (an IP address change is fine), then just do that before restocking/selling more on LET.
It seemingly got fixed... but now, somehow, the old VPS and the new OS install are both existing. I reinstalled the OS. I log in via SSH with the new password and it is the new OS.
A few minutes later, the SSH disconnects.
I try to log in again, but the new password doesn't work. I try the old OS's password and it works. The "history" command pulls up the history from the old VPS.
The new VPS and the old VPS are seemingly both existing and perhaps the virtualizor is randomly deciding which one is shown when going to the IP address.
I'm tired of dealing with it, and the "value" just isn't worth it.
Now, even if I reinstall the OS, too, I can't be sure the old OS was removed, which presents a security issue.
I see everyone clamoring for this VPS, but I wouldn't recommend.

Comments
Like I said in the first quote up there "Normally, I never need support" so I was trying to focus on the nice YABs, but it's just been too much frustration.
I recommend. I have been using their services for 2 weeks and I don’t have any reason to complain.
sudo systemctl poweroff one of them
Hi!
Thank you for the review, appreciate the feedback.
I know the case and I'm deeply sorry for any issues you encountered with us. We're more than happy to help everyone.
At first - regarding Eur currency - it's out default currency and while ordering/browsing the offers, you can change it to USD and GBP. I explained that to you on the support ticket:
One user recommended us to pass currency as a param to the link, but we cannot edit the post - will remember that in the future!
Regarding CPU performance. After posting our first offer, we didn't expect such interest. I admit that there was some drop, but we migrated couple of server to temporary one (incl. your server) and it was resolved. I even compensated that to you by adding even additional 1 month to the service
I received a ticket from you regarding virtualizor connection error, that I resolved yesterday. Apologies for any delay. The server was working all the time - issue was just with virtualizor communication. Your VM was also recreated and today I received information from you, that the service is working!
You created multiple tickets - that's right.
First one was answered - I waited for virtualizor support response, and I informed you about that. Second ticket was about performance - that was resolved also. Third ticket - I asked about error that you have - but you didn't answer me - so I cannot proceed with debug process. I know, that the responses were delayed - and again - I'm deeply sorry for that. We're new on LET, it was our first offer post. We weren't prepared to handle such traffic
Regarding old OS - when we migrated VMs, there was probably one copy running on another node, which caused issues you stated. It's now removed and everything should be good!
Thanks,
Wojciech
As I said before, ChunkServe's support has been very friendly. No complaints there.
But I signed up five days ago and still don't have a correctly functioning VPS whereas a typical signup is instantly provisioned.
As to the support ticket situation, I would reply and then get no response back. So I'd open a new support ticket the next day, with the same issue, and that would get a reply. That would also get a response on the older ticket. It was like the new support tickets got attention and the older ones were forgotten. I didn't respond to that "third ticket" with the error because I'd already detailed it at least twice before and his "what's the error" question was sent the same time as he did respond to the newer ticket with the same issue (i.e. my "not connecting the dots" in my original post above).
Combine the initial hiccups that I detailed above, the need for multiple support requests, etc, and even though the YABs is VERY good, I've just been too frustrated by the whole process.
I totally can understand what you mean. I'm again deeply sorry about the delays. You told me, that everything is okay now, so I assumed that it is. I checked it - and the previous instance was still running - that was the cause of interrupts.
I compensated it to you by 1mo free, but I can totally also understand your point of view
We're not forgetting about previous tickets. The status of request regarding movement was on-hold - and I didn't see that. After you write a request to check it - I done it and apologized. I was waiting for response from virtualizor support - because vm communication error AND issue with vm close, was probably caused by the bug
@Chunkserve is a solid lowend provider, be it from the customer care perspective (altho sometimes there could be delays due to demand, but it's always fair depending on the urgency of the request) and the performance of the services provided considering the price point.
Almost nearing a month with them now, performance hasn't dipped much from my first yabs.
This is the main reason that I'm resisting those dealz.
I totally understand!
We try to match the freebie to customer need but it's not always possible
+1 for @Chunkserve
Solid VPS performance with A+ customer support
agreed..considering the price and performance of the VPS it's Excellent 10/10 for @Chunkserve
I think people some times underestimate the amount of work that comes from giving out such cheap deals on LET. They probably have more than enough tickets from people not getting their upgrade the second they have paid :P
For the price and the performance combined with the quick answers here and the way they answer they are really an A+ provider!
You can make four plans in place of each plan and set appropriate stock levels:
Customer can select what they prefer without exceeding hardware capacity.
Same for me. Valuable provider
I suggested adding an extra CPU, but instead, I was given an additional 1GB of memory. The problem is that I already have 8GB of memory, so adding 1GB doesn’t make much sense. Even doubling the bandwidth seems more reasonable than adding memory.
+1 so far. Currently have NL and PL VPSs. Some initial issues with the PL one but those were quickly solved and got 7d of compensation that I didn't ask for.
NL was flawless since the beginning. No complaints so far. Good performance for a €10/yr VM, honestly.
@Arkas This should be possible by appending
¤cy=3to the end of the URL, like this: https://billing.chunkserve.com/index.php?rp=/store/let-vm-special/xeon-yearly-deal-at-let¤cy=3.Would it be possible to make this change?

After purchase I was not assigned IPv6 on one VPS automatically, but a ticket resolved the problem very quickly and they were friendly.
Only been using this provider for a week, but I like them so far.
YABS for the $20.99 a year LET special
YABS for the $9.99 a year LET special
@Chunkserve
Chunkserve is good until now .
Order Number: 3905995151 , ipv6 please
Yes it's possible, but the OP has to request the change in the title. I can't change a title of a thread that someone created by the request of a different person.
They have taken the money for the VPS and show the invoice as unpaid and after 2 days and ticket follow up and ignored for more than 24 hours and just marked the invoice as paid!!
but now the VPS is not enabled and just taking the money and no service delivered
be away of this chunkserve provider
For me, they sent a bunch of emails, some of which had blank data. However, my service was available to me right away. Since I'm a novice, I didn't really know how to set it up, but I figured it out.
There customer service is slow to respond, though.
