Looking for stable server providers in Frankfurt
Any good recommendations for providers in Frankfurt?
Minimum Spec Requirements:
- CPU: 4 vCores (Ideally EPYC)
- RAM: 8 GB
- SSD: 100 GB
Additional Requirements:
- High stability/minimal downtime
- Same-day ticket response time
I'm right now with Hetzner and happy with them. But looking for a provider to pay annually for savings.
Thank you!
UPDATE:
Sorry, not sure if I should have posted this in the "General" category.

@dataforest (https://avoro.eu/en/rootserver)
@layer7 (https://layer7.net/cloud-server)
I would recommend @Clouvider
@AlbaHost has KVM nodes in Frankfurt 🇩🇪.
My VM has AMD Ryzen 9 3950X so it may differ, but should be Ryzen.
100% uptime so far for me (20s TCP checks to my SSH port).
(make sure to DM them your requirements & location so you don't get randomly deployed in their other locations)

There's also @labze, and they have AMD Ryzen 9 9950X there.
Can't vouch for uptime since I've only used this new location for a month, but so far 100% (same 20s TCP checks)

@UltraVPS solid provider. check their latest offer
Hello,
We have AMD EPYC servers in Germany, we can help you with what you are looking for.
@labze was super solid for me
Thanks. Is that hostbrr you're talking about?
How is the customer support, please? How long does it take for them to respond and fix issues?
Yes.
As for the the support ticket, I don't know since I haven't used their support ticket system since I have no down time since I registered 5 months ago
We have a Frankfurt location:
https://www.smarthost.net/cart.php?a=add&pid=171
~ SMARTHOST
Both seem like very powerful options. Do you have any experience with their customer service? How fast do they respond to and fix issues? And do you know how often they have downtime on their nodes?
I would take @dataforest without hesitation. Customer since 5 years. Have a dedicated server with them and I'm absolutely happy.
No downtime for several months. Depending on your problem, I would estimate the response time to be under 30 minutes, if not under 5 minutes in some cases.
Have used and can recommend both, both have good support, though @dataforest's is usually a bit faster (but the prices are also a bit higher), and @dataforest also has a 24/7 hotline.
The uptime is good for both.
Frankfurt Looking Glass, due to multiple requests:

For Frankfurt i would choose AlbaHost.net , kindly support Ryzen CPU'S and blazing fast network.
Hello @houmie
Our VPS hosting plan might be the best fit for you based on your requirements. Please take a look and see if it meets your needs.
Another vouch for @dataforest as well, I'm with their PHP-Friends branch (https://php-friends.de) for about 5 years and they've been rock solid. I rarely needed their support, but when I did was pretty fast and the guys are very friendly; support is also offered in english or german.
When it comes to uptime, they had some network issues here and there at the end of last year when redundancy failed to kick in, but it didn't last more than a couple of minutes or so. Except that incident, the uptime has been outstanding for years and fingers crossed it stays that way.

I don't wanna say I jinxed it but somehow I did lol, currently an outage in @dataforest unfortunately.
Exactly @fendix that's why I mentioned about jinxing lol because it was the first time in years for me as well. Such timing lol! Thank you for the update @dataforest.
Actually the first major outage in more than 5 years of being a customer.
Hi,
a post-mortem with technical information will follow. Please back-to-topic.
Maybe I jinxed it. hehe It can happen.
How about Layer7, any experience with their customer support, please? Hardware looks good too. A shame that their setup fees spoils the first year a little bit.
UPDATE: Actually only their Ryzen has a setup fee. The Epyc series doesn't.
In my experience, their support is pretty good (friendly and honest), and all of my tickets were answered the same day (even on weekends), most even within a few hours, but it's no 24/7 support.
If you're interested in the uptime, I have servers from them in Frankfurt and Paris:
Intel Xeon Paris: https://status.tau.tz/report/uptime/bfc24e7e742ddc3c2b9d3a785340e86a/
AMD Ryzen Paris: https://status.tau.tz/report/uptime/5f7845bf707c20fe51fad167e60094d7/
Intel Xeon Frankfurt: https://status.tau.tz/report/uptime/2eb7186e94b95cbc5f1610a4c77939b7/
Awesome. Thank you.
Hi,
what is important for you with customer support? Maybe i can help you to answer questions :-)
The most important thing to know is:
There are only high skilled technicans answering ( as long as its linux and not windows at least ^^; )
very very strict prioritization of tickets
Tickets about technical issues, based in our infrastructure are cared very fast ( minuets - hours ).
Tickets about issues, based on missing knowledge of customers or of non time critical nature, you can expect even days. In such cases, if its important for you to get an answer faster, you will have to follow up and kick asses to make clear that you need a faster answer.
Edit: And we coming in general from a background of customer specific individual solutions. Thats how we generate money in the first place -- not with this budget offers you can see on the website. So we are very much used to advice customers what technical solution they will most probably need for their requirements. So we like communication, before and after. Especially feedback, especially if its not working the way the customer would expect it, is highly welcome.
Thanks for your clarification. In a nutshell:
This server will be a Live API with a database feeding data to up to 50 other servers. It is vital that there are no unexpected outages, or at least that they are kept to an absolute minimum. I understand that issues can sometimes happen.
In my experience, sometimes the node can go down and remain frozen, and customers cannot reboot the server from the dashboard. This is where customer service response time is very important, as I need to reach them quickly to resolve the issue. If customer service doesn't respond to my ticket and the server remains frozen for hours, that creates a significant problem.
Scheduled downtime announced in advance is not an issue, as I can temporarily relocate the API while the planned maintenance takes place.
