Even if you add an SSH key, they still add that config file with PasswordAuthentication no

KS-A its getting slowly very dark.
Order still up but we hitting the 15 days very soon.

Is 15 days significant in the OVH world? Like order expiration or something?

OVH's ToS mentions that, could mean kilswitch for anything that crosses that line.

Well now I've gone from feeling smug to worried...

Dat is a decent budget, I already burned my BF budget by spending a bit more than 100$ on OVH.

I'm paying OVH $140/m right now for 2 servers. I could easily distribute my entire stack to 3-4 KS-As. I was hoping, if delivered, I could trade a KS-A in BHS for one in GRA or a K-LE-B maybe. I have 2 other VPSes outside of OVH that I could discontinue and move the load to the remaining. It would be huge savings overall. I'd rather pay up front vs watch that $5/m suddenly rise at some point (if OVH ever does that sort of thing).

The sad reality is that these orders are going to be cancelled and I will commit to another 2yr black friday deal here in a couple of weeks as my current black friday deal from 2022 is at the end of its 2yr commitment.

  • I have a KS-LE-B E3-1245v6 (2x 2TB HDD) in a German server room!
I would like to trade it for a KS-LE-B (SSD only) or a KS-LE-E (SSD and mechanical HDD) - preferred 1650 V4!
I can add extra money to trade for

thats a lot of orders... :")

  • The up coming KS-LE-4 might be using 6700k because the ram shows non ecc ram at 2133mhz. I guess OVH has a good amount of 6700k in stock but they will not easily release many KS-As as they can't really get profit off KS-A.

  • Anyone have success install I218-V driver?

Ks-a seems to be available in aus. Not a bad pricetag for a server there.

    Nice !

  • guys, who made an order recently, are there any additional lotteries for KS-LE-D or KS-LE-E (HDD)?

  • Folks, be careful, this

.../etc/ss/ssd_config.d/50-cloud-init.co*f.... (I hate this stupid cf protection here at LET!)

file is a cloud-init thingy, so not just an OVH thing.

They want you to use extra files in ss*d_config.d to edit the ssh conf.

At least with Ubuntu templates you'll find this everywhere and not only with OVH.

My 11 day old LE-D BHS order got delivered today, no surprises apart from 1G network.

LE-C was delivered without any upgrades.

And my LE-B orders placed on 5th were cancelled in yesterday’s cancellation wave.

Not to mention, that OVH is backdooring, eh frontdooring your machine with a pre installed ssh key.
That is known though and fixed and visible in a second.

We probably should fork cloudinit and call it debilinit.
Its nice when you deploy machines, but on the other side, I hate it.

Its like with OVH, a love and have relationship.

They used to do that, I didn't check my new servers, since I usually just run my script that overrides the key if there is any anyway.

Would it just be in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys in either the root account or the non-root wheel group account they create for you? If so, I'm not worried - there's nothing there that I didn't put there.

Nobody buys SG or SYD here anyway, initially some people though OVH does "fake" restocks but it isn't the case after all.
People just have their scripts configured wrong over and over again.

  • I have 2 KS-LE-B servers, German E3-1245v6 French E3-1270v6 both (2x 2TB HDD)!

I would like to swap it for a KS-LE-B (SSD only) or a KS-LE-E (SSD and mechanical HDD) - preferably a 1650 V4!
Winning upgraded parts is better and I can pay extra for this swap. Any area is fine.

This server is on an EU account. Please PM if you need to
I have an EU account and a Canadian account that can receive

Maybe that's the creative way of OVH to fight the scalpers... :)

Not really, OVH has documentation on the API.
People just don't read as usual.
