This is pretty cool. I like NoMachine much better than VNC.
Yeah I recently came across this piece of software and it is slowly starting to become my go-to remote desktop streaming solution (watching movies, youtube etc..) especially on a very constrained low bandwith situation, where I wanna control the amount of data is being used. It has all the bells and whistles to do exactly that.
I use NoMachine with Linux desktop. It works amazingly well even for 1 gb Lubuntu OS vps.
@Chunkserve , would like to have an IPv6 assigned too.

and why outlook can't receive email
Will do that in a moment! Regarding mail sending, please issue a ticket on our billing
Waiting for your thread with the suprise!!
That's a very inefficient solution. Nearly every movie or stream, including YouTube, can be downloaded, reencoded to suit your bandwidth preferences, and then restreamed using tools like ffmpeg from terminal - all in a single command line without requiring a resource-intensive desktop.
Below 1Mbps for nearly everything including watching live streams off of Twitch while maintaining quality, that's as efficient as it gets. Movies and Youtube are just one of the many examples.
Can I install Windows Server on the VPS?
I am running Windows Server OS.
NoMachine is highly resource efficient.
Is NoMachine secure nowdays?
I remember it to have many security flaws...
I didn't find Windows install templete when ordering.
yt-dlp can download twitch/youtube (and hundreds more sources) and pipe its output to ffmpeg which in turn can generate a perfect 300mbps h265 encoded HLS stream. I do that all the time when I travel abroad with my Android tv stick.
It is if you must use a desktop. For downloading and transcoding videos you don't need a desktop.
What if you want to search and watch 10 minute relevant portion out of 60 min video?
Moreover YT download is not permitted
Some tools allow you to seek an already running video encoding process from a headless terminal while output video is being streamed (even if it has not been fully downloaded).
Maybe. But unnecessarily hogging the resources of your VPS provider by continuously running desktop sessions negatively impacts your neighbors on the node and is inconsiderate.
First check yourself before saying “may be”. I believe you know the answer very well.
I said 'maybe' because there are YouTube viewers with premium subscriptions who are allowed to download content, and authentication is possible with yt-dlp, so an answer 'yes' or 'no' depends on the user.
Anyway, please don’t shift the discussion. it seems like you’re trying to escape into corners
How does it matter if the cpu and bandwidth resources usage are well below the fair usage permitted limits?
Fair usage limits are just guidelines. VPS providers design their systems with expected workload patterns. Continuous desktop sessions aren't typically part of those patterns and the pressures they bring degrade performance for other users. Desktops should run on PCs.
Now, if occasionally you need to use a desktop (let's say to download something from a JS enabled site into VPS) that's fine. But when you're talking about continuously watching videos while scratching your balls on sofa that's a whole different story. You're not alone on the node.
So @dev_vps has picked another losing fight on the issues he has near zero knowledge about?
Please do not make this a personal vendetta.
My apologies, I meant to quote @farsighter
I never said that I am continuously watching videos on Remote Session
Using insulting words never build your logical argument, in my opinion
It's sad to see desktop/Windows users who are now hijacking this thread from @Chunkserve, moments before revealing his surprise.
Thread that he himself hijacked
I simply responded to this post.

I use Windows Server OS, if you have any issues with that, reach out to VPS providers.
Drama also pump the thread :-)
Coming up next: people get offended by the fact girls do poop.
I'm strongly opposed to using dekstop on Linux remote servers unless you really need something like a thin client. Overall Unix/Linux have enough tools to do almost everything in a more efficient and comfortable way than RDP'ing into the machine. Figuring them all out comes with experience. Also linux remote desktop servers are MILES behind the windows RDP experience in terms of comfort (party because you shouldn't do it and no one cares actually).
Minding my own stuff and building some Hugo on 3 cores 9 cylinders.

(And yes, don't use vscode in rdp ike I do, use
code tunnelorcode-server)
