Any way I can get my Lenovo Ideapad Z710 into Bios/Boot menu?

So, I've got an old (many many years) Lenovo Ideapad Z710 that is running Windows 10 and very swiftly at that thanks to a new SSD I installed about a year ago.

Thing is, I would want to boot into bios/usb in order to install dualboot linux, but I can't seem to get into Bios/USB Boot. I suppose it's vendor locked.

What I tried so far:

1) Normal way how to usually get into Bios: During Boot press any F1-F12 key (also FN+F#)

2) Win 10 -> Recovery Options -> Advanced Start -> There was no option for removable media boot/uefi as there is with my computer. No single option to boot from USB or start into bios is displayed.

3) bcdedit /set {bootmgr} display bootmenu yes (I was hoping it would display bios/other boot options, too. However, when the menu shows on startup I can only select Windows 10)

4) Disrupt startup process 3 times to get into WinRecovery environment.

5) I was thinking that maybe somehow I can install Grub Bootloader from running Windows 10, but have not found a good way yet.

TL;DR: Can't get into bootmenu on old win10 laptop that is probably vendor/bios locked.
Any ideas?

You should be able to get into boot menu through Windows Recovery, Advanced Options. Choose UEFI Firmware Settings.

  • FN + F2 spam is they key according to the video.

Never seen 'locked' BIOS - password protected - sure. Straight up locked? Nah.

Unfortunately, the UEFI Setting (as displayed in the screenshot above) doesn't show in my case (see op).

    Will try that, thanks!

Let's assume I misunderstood the text and that screenshot is generic screenshot, not the actual one :-D

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Haha  I can see why @JabJab might have had a good laugh, but unfortunately that screenshot wasn't taken from my laptop. It's a screenshot I googled to demonstrate that the UEFI Option displayed there wasn't available for me. Maybe misphrased that a bit :P

Anyway, the trophy goes to @JabJab . Thanks! It was really spamming FN+F2, but on my previous attempts I had already pressed down the FN key before pressing the power button, whereas pressing the FN key shortly after pressing the power button and then pressing the F2 key (as was shown in the video) did the trick. The reason I pressed the FN button already before powering the laptop on was that this 5+ (?!) year old laptop still boots Win10 within 1-2 seconds, so I don't have much time to get into bios.

Yet again a youtube video to the rescue. Though, this time, not the iconic one with 300 views from 10 years ago and a random youtuber with english accent and 12 subscribers.
