Proxmox fine or only single install?
Another day without new servers, see you next week.
Loool I have exact same disk config on my KS-LE-A.
HGST 7K4000 72367 hours, HGST 7K6000 34281 hours, HGST 7K6000 34282 hours.
Sadly I also didnt win lottery, standard 16GB & 3x2TB & 300/1000 config. I'll reconsider if its worth it over storage VPS. CPU weak performance is quite noticeable.
Edit: Ha! It turns out I did win lottery! 1Gbps on IPv6
5th of November, wait for it as it might get delivered any day from now.
What’s the CPU bench on these?
I am actually very surprised, regarding the LE-A's performance
In comparison to my HostHatch 3TB server I believe this is a perfect replacement (including another 1TB vps).
Raid5 offers 4TB now, at the expense of "some" redundancy (likely Raid10 beforehand)
16 GB is also very useful (in comparison to the 3GB from the HostHatch machine) especially in combination with ZFS (I think my yabses fio is pushed due to it)
HDD IO appears to be much much better (now dedicated and 3-10 times as high, possibly due to ZFS). CPU is actually also better (2-3 times-ish, and luckily dedicated now as well
). Network is the only "downgrade", but 300 Mbps is perfectly fine for me (luckily the bumped it from 100 in general, that would be at the edge to be fair)
Price got up by a factor of 1.5-ish, performance certainly more otoh
See my Yabs page 82, same CPU (GB6 700 / 2200)
Better than Atom for sure, but $/performance it's meh. 1Gbps unmetered is amazing value tho, so I'll make good use of it
Another day without my server being delivered
I can't complain about it. I mean ~4TB storage on unmetered 1 GBit/s down is great with 16GB ram. It's a great backup machine for me. My drives are all around 42k hours on.
I am in the same position. It's 3€/TB and everything is dedicated, you dont get that very often. Especially not with 16 GB ram
Sure sometimes 1.5€ or even 1€/TB is possible but performance wise this is a great deal (monthly commitment!)
Ordered at 2:45 PM UTC, 5th November, still not delivered lol.
My KS-LE-E was delivered after 3 days. But 4x2tb, 300/1000... Still think that KS-2 was way better deal there, 4x4, 10gbit both ways
10gb? Do you have the yabs 😊?
Alright boys, my second KS-LE-B KS-LE-A has been delivered. I'm ready to let one go.
EDIT: In RBX
When did you order it?
DM me pls
My bad, it's a KS-LE-A.
Ordered one on 5th and one on 7th.
Can msg me, I'm interested.
Can you sell it to me?
If anyone want to let KS-LE-B or KS-LE-E, please dm me
No dm me
Speed seems avesome.
What are the advantages of a ZFS than RAID5 with MDADM?
location?
Message me if anyone is looking for a KS-2 dc is Limburg.
My KS-LE-E still not delivered, ordered around 3 pm on November 5.
ZFS uses half of your RAM for caching, mostly in a somewhat better way than the kernel itself does. hence the speed improvement in the benchmarks.
in reality it heavily depends on your use case, if this really is beneficial. and of course you should be able to spare that RAM...
PS: ZFS also might handle scrubbing/rebuilds a bit better than madm (think of the typical URE problem on spinning rust)
Posted it once over here, but here is again:

That is wild. Just considering how much OVH charges normally for 10G.
