Newbie Question about vCPU on VPS

MakiMaki Member

I only use the VPS for WebHosting using CyberPanel, but somehow the CPU is soaring high 100%

I have no idea what those mean, I using VPS for same provider for years, but this only happen on last week, and sometime web didnt respond at all, and I need to restart the VPS via the Provider Control Panel.

Hopefully people here can elaborate to me whats happen, since I dont know what to query in google

    You probably have been impacted by the recent exploit on cyberpanel, and someone got access and is mining coins. We've had many clients impacted by this.

    Thanks for the answer sir, here is the top command

  • that is a lot of steal.

  • Contact your provider to have the VPS moved to a different node with fewer neighbors or lower CPU usage than the current one. After the move, be sure to check the CPU steal to confirm performance improvements!

    Thanks for the information, I will try update and see if this keep happening...

  • the steal is too damn high.

    That steal might very well be because of CPU throttling by the host if you've been using 100% CPU for extended periods.

    Is it just me or CPU usage and RAM numbers don't really match in summary and table

  • Thanks for everyone who comment in this thread,
    The cause is because my vps is infected by virus, they add this to cron

    ```
