Additional backup destination for Arq on macOS

Hello. I'm looking for feedback on storage providers with a view to adding 1 or more to my existing desktop backup setup.

Right now, I use Arq with Backblaze B2. There's about 350GB stored (around 2USD/month), with an extra 5GB per month added. It works just fine, but I've had a couple of close shaves locally and I'd like to add 1 or more additional backup destinations. The data is purely to and from myself, there is no public egress. No requirements on geo location, but if it's UK sterling billing then I'd avoid the credit card overseas currency fee, too.

My options in Arq are (and I've left the prohibitively expensive ones in for completeness):

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Backblaze B2
  • Dropbox
  • Filebase
  • Google Cloud
  • Google Drive
  • OneDrive
  • pCloud
  • SFTP
  • SharePoint
  • Storj
  • Wasabi
  • Attached disk or network share
  • S3-Compatible

The options with most scope are SFTP and S3-compatible, so that's where I'm focusing my r&d at the moment.

I realise 2USD/month is low cost, and I'm not expecting to get any cheaper than that, but if there's anything you've used and you're able to give advice on, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you, and best wishes.
