This not latest news, but most people doesn't realize that it is possible to run MongoDB under OpenVZ container, with RHEL6 host. See Andrew Luzin's comment (date Oct 08 2011 08:12:00 AM UTC) at https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-1121

    Why would you think you couldn't? it's just a database.

    heck, I've run oracle under openvz and it's a whole lot more finicky.

    Because of limitations of OpenVZ it was impossible, it crashed with "out of memory" error but now they fixed it.

  • OpenVZ fixed most of the issues with the VSwap swap.
