    Also, regarding:

    Unmetered FTP/Email/Databases

Does anyone know whether the quality/reliability of email delivery is good? (This can be tricky on shared hosting if everyone sends from the same IP address)

it doesn't seem to have been solved (in general) yet, because i am currently involved in such a process. i am in contact with paddle and they seem to be stalling me or keep telling me that they are in contact with the provider (vpslim). my tickets with vpslim in this matter are basically never answered. i suspect that they are not interested in a solution.

    Yes, not so good news

It sounds like the problem lies more with @VPSSLIM because they shouldn't add VAT to begin with if Paddle takes care of adding (the appropriate) VAT. The issue shouldn't be so hard to resolve ...

@VPSSLIM , any word from you on this? If the issue persists, the word will spread and potential customers won't feel encouraged to purchase a service from you

We temporarily stopped using Paddle till they can clear some things up. We already don't bill VAT to customers outside EU (or 0%) and companies inside the EU. But paddle standard bills 21% after constant discussion it's still not clear why. They are looking into the issue. They say that clients need to fill in their VAT ID at the Paddle payment page, but private citizens of course don't have a VAT ID.

thanks for working out the problem. (i am now wondering how i can pay with you, because paypal is not offered, correct?)

so the transaction lies with paddle? as a private individual within the eu, i pay vat to you and you then pay it to your authorities. normal procedure. paddle (outside the eu, based in england) has added vat to the gross price.

Hi, yes so that's what I told them too. We pay the VAT to authorities, and they just add their UK tax on top of this. I told them this is not allowed. They told us then don't bill VAT.I told them we're not allowed to do that of course. They just need to adjust it to 0% in their system. So we are trying to solve this ASAP (hopefully this week).

Folks wait, I thought the pure reason paddle exists is to handle VAT for you (=the merchant).

@vpsslim: isn't there a setting in paddle to define if you are setting the prices inside paddle as gross or net (so including VAT or excluding VAT)?

And than paddle would e.g. for a consumer calculate the VAT-included price and pay the VAT to the relevant country? I mean, this is what paddle as a merchant of record (in contrary to other payment providers) is all about. So paddle would normally pay the VAT for transactions to e.g. France etc. and vpsslim should not pay those... (that is the difference to e.g. paypal or stripe).

I suggested this above (though not in as much detail as you):

Like you, I would have thought that this was one of the advantages of using Paddle, namely, that they handle the appropriate VAT
