Is Webuzo coming for DirectAdmin and cPanel?
I decided to give it a shot and I have been impressed. It still needs a lot of work but so far it has given me a better impression than DirectAdmin when it comes to stability, the way DirectAdmin builds programs makes the server to be not as stable and making configuration chances is a pain in the ass, it also feels like if you touch anything it can break anytime.
Webuzo has given me a more cPanel kind of panel, easy to manage and less headaches. Of course, it needs a lot of work but it has impressed me how much it has chanced, I would had never counted it as an alternative until I crossed it by accident.

CWP Pro is much more of a cPanel contender in my experience. Migrating cPanel > CWP accounts is a breeze and the panel is ideal for semi-dedicated boxes.
All the usual good stuff supported - Apache, Nginx, multi-PHP, Node.js selector, Tomcat, Exim, Dovecot, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, policyd (email send limiting), MariaDB, CSF GUI... etc etc. Some helpful stuff like Jailkit, cgroups and secure kernel to almost contend with CageFS.
Only PHP-FPM rather than LSAPI with cPanel, but CWP builds Apache and PHP from scratch so the actual performance beats out cPanel anyway. Incremental (rsync) backups work blissfully and perform way better than cPanel and/or JetBackup.
Best bit is the price; $1.49/mo for unlimited accounts, and volume discounts for resellers or hosts doing per-/24 licensing.
Also yes, I feel the same, and I've had services bork completely because of minor changes made to configs. I still can't understand how DA got so popular. It feels like the Fisher-Price of panels. That said, I feel the same of Plesk, so maybe it's just me.
I agree. Can you imagine if it's script installer included popular apps so you don't have to buy softaculous...
I have tried the free version multiple times and I find it halfway done. Not to mention I have heard a lot securities concern about CWP
Rack911 did an audit a few years ago and found a heap of bugs with CWP and Vesta, yes. Rack911 also reportedly had issues getting in touch with the CWP team, but that's likely due to their support being behind the paid license paywall (and understandably so). The same security concerns can be said of all panels, though. Plesk and cPanel have both patched tens of security bugs this year alone.
For CWP, the main issue is support.
The devs are not active on support forum and if there is an issue which breaks something no body is there to help you(or you need to wait a few days/week until some one show you mercy of replying on forum.
In many years of use, probably 5+, I can recall two bugs with CWP Pro. One that prevented MySQL database management, and another that stopped phpMyAdmin auto-logins in the end-user panel. I opened a paid ticket for each and the issues were resolved faster than say cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin. You pay peanuts for CWP Pro licenses so it's quite worth it to pay for support, and you do get what you pay for.
I am using the Webuzo panel, and I find it better than DA. It has a built-in virus scanner and Softaculous. Additionally, they provide 24/7 support for any issues with the panel. When I give them login access to the VPS, they resolve the problem efficiently. It's an excellent panel.
Thanks for update. I do like CWP interface though.
But, currently more inclined towards the open source control panel hestiacp. The next version will have cpanel/DirectAdmin importer, script installer, support for Limiting CPU and RAM for Each User using cgroup and many many more features. And not to forget about there impressive forum support too.
