Thanks but i'm not sure if our DDOS BGP is of much interest.
We don't offer Path application filters on it, nor is there any control panel way to manage the basic L4 filters. We've had plenty of demand to offer both of these, but have always felt it steps on Path's toes as we'd be directly competing with them then at 1/10th the price.
Our offering is there for people that need pretty basic filters (basically they only need a few ports open on the whole range, and we can hard drop the rest).

If the VPS/VDS/Dedi provider can do BGP-Annoncement/Session/etc setup (for your purchased/leased IP address/subnet from your LIR (IP address/subnet provider) or other seller/lessor) , then GRE/etc tunnel not-needed.
But, as a VPS/VDS/Dedi owner/renter, you can add/use any tunnel at anytime for your own usage , for that , you/owner do not need permission from VPS/VDS/Dedi/etc provider.
( But do not make your VPS/VDS/Dedi/etc an exit-point (or entrance-point) for public tunnels/traffic ... different provider has different restrictions on that , So ask/search provider's website first before purchase/rent ).
But if your VPS/VDS/Dedi etc computer's provider (or provider's ISP/Upstream) do NOT do BGP-Announcement/Sessions/etc setup , then you (VPS/VDS/Dedi owner/renter) MUST have to use GRE/VPN etc tunnels , for your leased/purchased IP address/subnet , to be used from your VPS/VDS/Dedi etc computer.
