Archive.org DDoS plus Security Breach

JasonMJasonM Member
edited October 2024 in General

Archive.org sustained two days of DDoS attacks, bringing the internet archive website to its knees.

To top it off, a security breach actor obtained a registered user database, containing 31 million records. The data included usernames, email addresses, and salted-encrypted passwords. They provided the data to the operators of Have I Been Pawned (HIBP.)

Late Wednesday, Internet Archive founder Brewster Kahle revealed that a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack affected the site, leading to its defacement via a JavaScript library too.

My Malwarebytes is giving "site compromised" notice while using archive.org!!! is it infected with malware now?
