Looking for Ryzen VDS Instances

As titled, I'm looking for VDS (not VPS) instances based on either Ryzen 5950X/7950X or 9950X. Ideal preferences:

12-16 dedicated vCPU's
64GB RAM
800+ GB NVMe Storage

These are mostly for hosting smaller pools of WordPress sites. No strict budget on this, open to reasonable offers. I already have instances with HostEONS and CherryServers, but looking to expand to multiple providers.

Comments

  • Any reason not to get a dedicated server?

Most of Solid's VPS are VDS. I use them to host game servers and never had problems.

Crunchbits Ryzen VDS don't match, but might be able to contact them or get a dedicated

@Kevinf100 We already have many 7950X dedicated machines in production. We prefer to deploy virtual instances in some cases for smaller client pools, and also some providers include snapshots/daily backups of instances which is an extra layer + peace of mind on top of things like Acronis/JetBackup and so on.

  • @crunchbits is going to be your best bet for a custom VDS.

Given what you're asking for, I'm really struggling to understand why you'd prefer a VDS over dedicated. You mentioned snapshots but you assuredly won't be getting free snapshots when you're needing nearly 1TB of space. It'd make more sense to have a separate backup server.

  • @Petey_Long We already have many dedicated machines all across the US - 50+. For VDS, it allows us to spin up images quicker, take snapshots etc etc. Some clients want root access, and we want to delegate dedicated cores over a VPS environment. We could do it ourselves or simply pay a company much better versed in managing such an environment. We still buy dedicated machines, VDS just satisfies another area.

You are asking for a 12-16 vCore VDS on a x950X 16 core CPU 32 threads. You are going to be either going to be allocated to a machine with no one else or be sharing it with a very few others user with some cores being the hyper-threaded ones. Why not look for a Manage dedicated or raise tickets with them asking if they can provide you a dedicated but treat it as a VDS for the features you want?

Could you just explain to me what you believe a VDS does that a dedicated doesn't? VDS means virtual dedicated server. So instead of a VPS (shared resources) you're getting a small slice of dedicated resources (VDS)

What you're asking for is a dedicated server's worth of resources on a VDS. You'll have a hard time finding providers because very few provide resources like that on a VDS (because it doesn't make sense.) If you need 16 dedicated 7950x cores and the 7950x has 16 cores, you're at dedicated level resources.

This would make more sense because there's not going to be a usability difference between a VDS and dedicated.

Not a bad idea. Appreciate the insight. We will do that.

Advin is an awesome provider! He'll do you right.

  • @Petey_Long Appreciate your insights and comments, not disagreeing with your logic whatsoever. We're just trying different environments and want to diversify, that's all.

No worries!! I was just genuinely curious to hear why you preferred one vs the other so if it ever came up again, I'd know where someone with that mindset was coming from. Personal preference is personal preference :)

But if you do go this route, Advin and Crunchbits are both excellent providers and they will absolutely make sure you're taken care of.

Can suggest not Ryzen, but EPYC VDS plans (NVMe), which are stackable (and reasonably priced).

Would that be of any interest? Or you're looking for Ryzen-only machines?

I know you're looking for VDS, but this should meet your requirements:

    https://www.reliablesite.net/dedicated-servers/12-core-server/amd-ryzen-9900X-192GB

    AMD Ryzen 9900X, 192GB RAM, 2 x 4TB NVMe, instant setup - $209/mo with coupon OCT249900X

Mostly sold out, but still a small handful left.

Hey! I see many offers have been made so far, but I'll make mine nevertheless
I've got quite some hardware available ready for these kinds of VM's. All servers are equipped with AMD Ryzen 5 CPU's, 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and NVMe storage. Additional IPv4 addresses are possible! It is possible to have scheduled back-ups made of your VM as well (Weekly and daily, e.g.)
If you decide to require a hole lot of power, it is possible to rent an entire dedicated and use that as a VDS with full control, e.g. with 64GB RAM and 512GB NVMe storage for 75eu/mo

Feel free to send me a DM or a message on discord: pjottertjah
