    Gone..

  • Today for the first time in weeks I saw KS2 in France available for several minutes, it usually gone even you click the notification from monitor right away before.

Anyone here get 16TB combined storage for KS2 or KS1?

  • allthemtingsallthemtings Member, Megathread Squad

If anyones looking for a KS1 in RBX with 1G/1G Up/down slide in my dms

It has been a month since the change kicked off, I suspect we'll see quite a few of all types pop up over the coming weeks as people who paid for a month and ended up not having a use for them let them go. Keep signed up to one of the monitoring services and you might be lucky. Got a KS1 earlier but might have used of a KS2/32/HDD myself if I get chance on one geographically closer.

    Thanks! Good to know.

KS4 is better if it just 8TB then, more CPU power.

Probably the next new offers will be in the game range with more RAM and disk. I hoppe that they will prepare KS-LE servers. I'd like to replace my KS-LE-1 2022 edition with a SYS-LE-1 2023 edition config with a Kimsufi price and 300 Mbps network. The 2 TB NVMe disks and e3-1230 v6 was very strong for 29.99 euros. If it'll available near 20--25 euros or below it might beat the KS-LE-1 2022. Past year KS-LEs weren't strong as 2022 ones in my opinion so I hoppe OVH will celebrate the 25th anniversary with unbeatable offers...

The new SYS range is poor I think, the new 300Mbps kimsufi is much more appealing the KS-LE could be really nice this year

I assume the people who won that lottery and have 4x4 not 4x2 are more likely to idle them a bit longer in case they find a use, so they won't pop up as often. Or they'll try transfer them to make a little back rather than just cancelling and letting them drop back into the general pool.

Yes, having a 44 will almost never be cancelled, but these days I found someone who successfully opened a 44. Maybe they will put more 4*4

I now believe the odds of me getting a KS-A are close to that of me winning the lottery. And I NEVER win the lottery

My cell on 5G UC / UWB gets 1Gbps+ in some areas now, constantly over 250-500Mbps.

You're comparing different metrics (download on 5G, upload on Kimsufi) that is heavily thottled (good luck 1TB+/mo on 5G) vs unmetered and for one you paid hundreds in hardware (5G phone) where other has hardware included.

For $15/mo you get hardware, electricity and its amazing that you get 90TB/300Mbps traffic too.

    Its 300Mbps for $15/mo or 1Gbps for $35/mo.
I do not want them to give us 1Gbps together eith higher prices for such hardware. Theres no way they wouldnt increase prices with 1Gbps. 300Mbps unmetered is already above what I would consider great at this price, dedi or VPS. Its 90TB/mo for $15. Cheap as fuck.

I'm in favor of cutting costs on network speeds to provide such cheap dedis, because its still fast enough for almost all usecases. Game servers, API server, database servers, webservers, encoding, AI/ML... its limiting only for things where you should use CDN or completly other product/server altogether.

You don't know what you talk of son.

Total Wireless has a $15/promotion. They are previously TracFone and promote truly unlimited 5G UWB speeds. They dgaf about over 1TB usage (I can attest to this) routinely.

I didn't bother reading the rest of your thread, as I was only focusing on the fact my cell phone on ATT gets ~800Mbps down and on T-Mobile N41 can push up to 2Gbps easily.

Only mentioned in these days, 300Mbps when cell phones can push 1Gbps easy is aging a bit.

PS: The phone came free on the T-Mobile plan.

There's 5,200,000 matches played every day on Lichess.org and infra is on combination of OVH + SyS (and one Hetzner AX41). These SyS servers are 250Mbps.

Looks like 300Mbps isn't that limiting.

  • Oh cool.

You missed the point again, I didn't say it's limiting - the plans are showing their age when a cell phone can push 3x the bandwidth they can.

But yeah, $15/mo unlimited 5G UWB that doens't mind pushing 1TB. Just wanted to correct you on 'that is not possible.

I know what QCI level I'm on, do you?

Radio is a shared medium and capitalism is endless.
No fucking way the operator not gonna boot you before you push more than the Kimsufi.

Plus the Kimsufi has a 1gig pyhsical link, instead of some up to maybe is the weather is good 500Mbit shared with 100 people.

I picked up 2x SYS-1s mainly for vRack, both delivered with E-2236s, one in London is 10G down, and Gravelines is 1G down.

  • You guys are sticking to the old atom servers?
I got lucky at a disk replacment and got a 4TB instead of 1TB , so for 4.99€ with atom n2800 cpu, 2 gig ram and 4 TB Disk is not too bad. i just renewed it for a year

I have a KS-2, but it's been three years and the hard drive hasn't broken down yet. :D
