VDS for Proxmox

Hello guys,

I am looking for a VDS/VPS to run a Proxmox host on. I have a hard time finding an option with sufficient storage. I would prefer to have a dedicated server but I think I won't be able to find a dedi with ssd below 20 Euro per month.

What I am looking for:

  • 4 CPUs (no need for high end)
  • 8+ GB RAM
  • 150+ GB SSD (would prefer to have 250 GB)
  • 200 Mbit/s or better with atleast 2TB traffic
  • VM-x/AMD-V enabled so I am not stuck with containers only
  • European location

My budget is around 15 Euro per month.

The option I have an eye on:

Layer7 does have some interesting options aswell but they either have just 2 cores or are above the budget. But a big plus would be the cheap price of additional HDD storage.

IIRC, VM-x/AMD-V isn't enabled at netcup.

Ohh thanks for letting me know. I thought it's enabled on their Rootserver line up but not on their "normal" VPS line up. But I will check again with them.

EDIT: Okay looks like they have enabled in in the past if requested via ticket but stopped doing so since they were acquired by Anexia.

I already have a great deal plus huge discount with you. It would be a rip-off to even get more cores. I am more than satisfied with my two service. I think there have been just one downtime in 2-3 years. Great provider!

    Hi,

based on what is this opinion build?

If i look into the the website i will see AMD Epyc in paris location

    4 Cores 16 GB 120 GB 30 TB** 8,90 EUR
    6 Cores 24 GB 180 GB 50 TB** 13,90 EUR
    8 Cores 32 GB 250 GB 50 TB** 17,90 EUR

And those prices are including 19% VAT so most probably all are within your price range and all are above 2 Cores.

So where does this 2 Cores or over budget come from? =)

I guess that comes from bad eyesight and rushing over the website without checking every section. Thanks for letting me know. I'll take them into consideration :)

Also AMD EPYC with all the resources dedicated. Which are real, unlike NetCup.
