I'm still confused as to why changing the ASN was necessary to begin with.

Pro tip: don't host your website and portal on your own network so when things happen to it you still can communicate with customers. We've always used BuyVM for this purpose.

    Why downtime?

Create route objects for new ASN, wait for upstreams to update filters. Create second RPKI and wait for filter updates as well. Confirm with your upstreams that all is good. Schedule it with them, switch the ASN. Next to zero downtime.

    That would be too easy.

That would not be enough drama for him.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe because it cost 36 hours of downtime for some of your customers. But as you put it, "why not?"

Just casually taking your website, helpdesk and all customers offline for no legitimate reason.

When people come LET , LEB they trust they will get good providers considering the reputation of these platforms but some slimy characters do thrive contrary to the principle of business with some support from even slimiest characters who think that everyone has time to research someone like calin and it is ok to be irresponsible and arrogant repeatedly..

I would request moderators to see his sales threads , what value he is providing to this platform ?. Is he even worthy of selling here ?.

For that exact reason you can’t run mission critical or even development apps on the VPS. Will not be renewing my server with him!

If it was mission critical , it would have been paypal dispute within the 2nd hour of downtime without advance notice.

Still when seller is being paid he has to provide responsible service with minimum downtime in minutes or an hour maybe but definitely not days.

  • @atul said: but definitely not days.

Subnets 140xxx and 93xxx start have just a 30-40 minutes downtime , after we migrate to new ASN , subnets 92xxx , 82xxx , 94xxx have approx 15 to 24 hours downtime , depend of the region and from what country are you , just take more little bit to propage RoA , RPKI and IRR to new ASN

The ASN Change it was a critical situation that we had to do as urgently as possible

What he can not do is, promote his hosting.

He can still advertise on LET, since the megathreads are an exception from rules (megathreads are usually on Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, New Year, Easter and so on).

  • Very professional to post screenshots from paying customers inbox messages
