Actually yes, judging by the early tickets to add virto iso to the VPS.
Since we modified all services to include the iso as an add-on drive a few moths back, none asked anymore.
We also have plenty of users running windows for RDP on the C5 Promo VPS.
i've seen a couple of people post screenshots of RDP sessions, seems to work well else they'd be complaining
The best notification and monitoring system is... our customers! 😄
We haven’t found a faster problem monitoring app yet! A big thank you to everyone for your prompt notifications.
Yes, I admittedly use mine for backup and some storage only. For video streaming and such 2 vCores probably are indeed a big plus.
Full ACK!
Compared to my level you are boringly sane *triumphant (and grinning)
Hi I am interested, dropped a PM
Hi How is the performance of running windows on the 2 Xeon Gold vCPU + 2GB 5TB plan? Anyone any experience? Thx.
I would strongly recommend upgrades for additional 2 vCPU and 2 GB RAM
Thanks! I must have missed the upgrade notice. Do you know how much is the upgrade? Is it one-off payment or an additional recurring price?
Hy @joe99
From V4 to Xeon Gold the upgrade is a one time payment of 6 USD.
This upgrade is in limited number, we will process the remaining ones today.
If anyone is interested in selling an idle instance, do reach out. I'm interested.
I thought that even it's idle no one sell it. Because it will never restock
maybe make some deals on this Xeon Gold? xD
Dreams do come true sometimes…
Or wait until Black Friday. Maybe you can grab a better deal, maybe ?
@ all
The two new R740XD2 Xeon Gold nodes we’ve just set up will be allocated to upgrading existing customers, as a way of rewarding their loyalty over the past year.
The existing Xeon V4 nodes will also receive some upgrades before being brought back into production.
Additionally, we have another batch of Xeon Gold servers coming in that will be used for future promotions and sales.
This is why we’ve mentioned that this month is particularly busy for us, as we’re making several improvements—not just to the infrastructure but across the board
PS:
Please check your inboxes as we sent out an information release yesterday regarding updates to payment gateways and account security
Whatever you predicted for blackfriday sales, double it
We’re also working on introducing more premium storage services based on RAID 10. While they’ll be a bit pricier, they’re sure to pack a punch in terms of performance. - No ETA on this for the moment.
I need to upgrade the CPU. I have opened a work order. Please see the private message.
As this offer is available in limited quantity, tickets will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be patient as we process them.
thanks
I have been waiting for a day and there is no reply so far. Can you help me check my order? Thank you.
Hello, I received your reply an hour ago and paid for the upgrade.
I need one of these 5 TBs for cold storage backup. If anyone wants to transfer one, lmk. PP only.
I participated in this CPU upgrade. After the upgrade, the CPU running score doubled, and 4k was better than before. This transaction is very cost-effective. During the migration process, although it took a while, the boss patiently answered my questions, which made me feel very at ease.
CPU running score doubled? YABS?
eta ?
~1 Mo, Sorry, but sourcing 3 x 24 Drives of at least 14-18 Tb is no walk in the park. ( plus the initial initialization is like 4 days on that )
We had a few isolated cases where LIVE migrations took over 24H to complete.
Migration speed is capped depending on the node, not mess with the running services ( or at least to mess as least as possible
)
Proxmox is no KING at LIVE migrations with LOCAL Storage either
.
Guys, we had a few complains regarding the upgrade we provided ( V4 -> Gold 6148 ), mainly CPU SCORE.
Those that sent us the details, did GB5, and we provided GB6 score.
The 2 versions do tests totally different, GB5 is intended for older systems, it can be used for both older and newer CPUs, but it is more suited to older hardware since it was designed around the technology available at the time of its release in ~2019.
It may not fully stress or measure the performance of newer CPUs, especially those with advanced architectures and features like large core counts, high memory bandwidth, or new instruction sets like AVX-512.
Geekbench 6 is designed with modern CPUs in mind and provides a more accurate reflection of how newer processors perform in real-world scenarios. This makes it the better choice for testing the latest CPUs, though it still provides backwards compatibility for older systems.
As an example, we did GB5 and GB6 on the Gold 6148 System:
GB5:
Single Core | 599
Multi Core | 1179
Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/22908181
GB6:
Single Core | 764
Multi Core | 1384
Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/8006164
That said, if any of you are unhappy with the provided upgrade, simply reply to the ticket, and we’ll move you back to the V4 and issue a full refund.
FWIW/FYI
I did a review (and comparison with some other providers) -> https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/198069/3-5-storage-vps-comparison-nl-it-ro-incl-host-c
Enjoy!
It's been three days, why hasn't Ticket replied yet.haha
