ihostart.com is not accessible
Hi everyone, about two days ago, the ipv4 address of the storage server I purchased from ihostart became unavailable. Until now, their website cannot be opened. Can anyone tell me what happened?
In addition, I am considering transferring data to other providers. If anyone can recommend some cheap and reliable storage servers (storage above 4t), I will be very grateful.
Thanked by 1zmeu

Internet Magnate (Pty) Ltd
maybe you are from different planet....
Okay, I know.
Wishful thinking.
FWIW my 103.212.81.x server is unreachable too
but my 94.177.106.x one is reachable (and I can SSH in even fast)
So, it seems that @Calin's explanation is plausible and in a couple of hours our storage VPS will be reachable again.
@host_c seems to be about to offer a new promo (or maybe he already did?)
They easily match or even outperform my liteserver storage box (except host_c's connectivity seems to be somewhat lower, but still more than good enough).
Congrats on the expansion I guess
i can smell some tax evasion there - but who knowns maybe I am wrong since I have no knowledge about that
He planned to move to Africa?
District 9 sequel just dropped:
Why the ASN change?
yess, owns the whole country with this 22k
africa is a continent
Hey @mw arent you from the Same country? Maybe soon you make Barbecue together with @Calin
i invited calin to braai already the next time he's on this side of the planet
>
Yes we talked , and it's on tasks in next year to visit africa/asia!
some ppl open parfume shop, when you open shop for lil workers?
Can I also join ?
by the way: an ASN change can usually be changed without any downtime, we have already done this several times (with customer ASNs) with a downtime of just a few seconds.
Nevertheless, Africa is a beautiful continent, I've been there several times and have always been very impressed. I still have regular contact with the locals there. Would love to join the barbecue ;-)
bring beer and its an open invitation, you'll love cape town
@Calin
I think IPXO swapped the old AS with the new one, so it might take 24H at least for this to work.
140.233.190.0/24 - seems OK with the new AS214209, but is also announced by AS210164
EDIT:
https://bgp.tools/prefix/140.233.190.0/24#connectivity
thank god this asn change was planned to only cause a brief downtime

Leave.
ihostart? Who is that? What is that? Sounds a bit familiar but I can't remember and there is no website there.
Oh well... moving on.
More IPv4 subnets are removed from the old ASN, their propagation on the new ASN is still expected
Thanks all again for waiting , we will try to compensate free days for this extended downtime , for customers who it's affected.
2x Subnets it's already work and online to new ASN >
Why downtime?
Create route objects for new ASN, wait for upstreams to update filters. Create second RPKI and wait for filter updates as well. Confirm with your upstreams that all is good. Schedule it with them, switch the ASN. Next to zero downtime.
