Does MXroute allow using the + sign to basically have unlimited alias for a mailbox?
I have used MXroute in the past but I can't remember if that was working. I am currently using Hetzner for email hosting but it doesn't support this, and it's a little annoying since to do bug bounties I often need to use many email addresses so I need to create separate mailboxes.
Besides MXroute which is clearly quite popular here, are there any other options worth exploring that support the + sign?

How about use catch-all?
I use this for all my domains, catch-all is so much easier.
It works just as fine, I use it myself.
Yes, unlimited, until abuse pattern discovered. Than you are toasted very fast. Plus addressing is a nice thing, so keep it civil and don’t fck it up.
Oh I hadn't thought about that. I will see if it's possible with Hetzner. Thanks for the suggestion!
As an alternative, I can also recommend Purelymail. Pricing is very decent and they have "Subaddressing" i.e you can use "+" https://purelymail.com/docs/features. Been a satisfied customer for a while.
catch-all seems to work well, so I will keep it that way for now. I am quite busy so I am happy I don't need to change email hosting again right now. Thanks all
Many providers have catch-all nowadays. I use it too sometimes. There is no need to look for improvisation with + signs and whatnot.
It is easy to become email flood victim.
it's part of the email standard
We do
The thing that's part of the email standard is that a "+" can appear in a local part, but the standard doesn't say anything how that "+" is interpreted (it could just as well be interpreted as any other character, so you would get a separate mailbox) - the standard doesn't mandate that the "+" and anything after that gets ignored.
That standard can be disabled.
Yea this can be a real pain in the dick unless you have really excellent spam prevention (thx mxroute).
