Sorry, this is nonsense - if you buy a service for $100 and the provider goes under after a year how exactly does it help you to have bought it for 3 years or 69 of 99 instead of "lifetime"?
Buying low end services from low end providers carries a risk and we all know that. You keep banging on about "refund amounts" as if you expect to get money back from someone deadpooling. That... is not normally how it works.
(full disclosure: I generally avoid lifetime deals because I prefer actually paying for services. I don't have an MXRoute lifetime for that specific reason - although it's a pretty sweet BF package. That said, I do have a MyW lifetime because it was a silly low price and I understood the risk of buying such a thing)

I'm only aware of two providers here that offer lifetime, one folded and now I'm both of them. I support a ban on lifetime for LET. The rules have always been about preventing this forum from being destroyed by the excessive number of scam operations that are attracted to it. Because we saw first hand the alternative and it wasn't better.
What if instead of banning lifetime for LET, one accidentally bans LET for lifetime?

While I’m fine with lifetime deals, I believe there should be a written minimum service period.
Something like a "lifetime" plan that guarantees service for at least a year, and whilst the customer can still use it afterwards, it is not guaranteed and they are not entitled for a (partial) refund if the business goes out.
I don't personally bother with lifetime deals and I typically treat them as a warning sign, but .. I'm not sure I understand why LET should prohibit them.
Do you (we) not already treat every single posted offer here as a buyer-beware situation, and do some amount of checking before spending your nickel?

Lifetime offers should only be allowed from hosts, who provide legit visual evidence of their balls.

Seems reasonably "small" package and only a few bucks to gamble upon. That said, 20i, according to trust pilot, seems to continuously increase their pricing or limit users (this might be problematic here) unless you upgrade their plan. That said, if there's another source of income, it seems doable.

I'm not sure if it's easy to automate but how about lifetime but you pay 20% each year and then after the 5th year you don't pay more.
The problem is most offer lifetime to generate cash to launch and scale, and it's a bet on the company, look at appsumo their whole model is essentially built on this, buy a product early on for a one time fee and you take a bet on the company. I've had purchases on appsumo close down and I've had some that are doing amazing and I'm saving a crazy amount.
If you can afford to take the risk on a lifetime deal then do, if not then simply do not buy. I'm talking as someone with less than 11 months use on a MyW lifetime plan.
If you can't afford to lose the 50,100,200 do not buy it. I sometimes want to take a bet on a company and get in early on a lifetime deal.
If you get use out of it for 6-12 months and you factor in the going monthly rate then usually you haven't been ripped off too much at the end of the day, it softens the blow , if it was a good lifetime offer.
