Wanted 1TB HDD Storage Server - KVM Virtualization

Hello everyone,

I’m currently looking to purchase a storage server with the following specifications, preferably using KVM virtualization. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!

VZ Type:
KVM

Number of Cores:
2 CPU cores (or higher)

RAM:
3 GB (or higher)

Disk Space:
1 TB

Disk Type:
HDD

Bandwidth:
10 TB limit

Port Speed:
10gbps

DDoS Protection:
Optional (can be with or without DDoS protection)

Number of IPs:
1x IPv4 (IPv6 support would be a plus)

Location:
Preferably LOS, but open to suggestions

Budget:
Around $40 for two years, not exceeding $60 for three years

Billing Period:
Maximum term is 3 years, and the total cost should not exceed $60 for that period.

If anyone has a deal that meets or exceeds these specifications, or can suggest a similar offer, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

  • 10Gbps, 1TB HDD, even with 40$/y you can't get it for sure

You would be lucky getting that for $60 for 1 year from a provider that will give you stable uptime and 10gbps speeds

I think you forgot to write
    2 vCore dedicated Ryzen 9950x

I just renewed that kind of server for $40 for two years, the provider is Virmach. As for the service quality... emmm, you know what I mean 🤦‍♂️

Sadly you pay for what you get most of the time

Haha, you're right, I forgot to add that when editing. But the CPU shouldn't be anything less than an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-core processor, and two VCPUs are more than enough. If we go with two physical CPUs, the price might need a few extra zeroes!

I guess I'll have to renew with tears in my eyes。

Yes, if the hardware specs don't match the price, they've probably cut corners elsewhere, like in stability.

Just like buying anything else, price is directly proportional to quality.

    Yes, this is VirMach-only price.

You need to be lucky to get these specs at this price for one year.

not exceeding $60 for three years

And this price for two years, not three, is like a very limited Black friday flash sale with "10 pcs available" or so.

Damn it, the server lost connection again. It's only the 10th day after renewing it. I can't even access https://nyc.lg.virmach.com. Well done, Virmach. No notifications, nothing.

That's what you pay for. Increase your budget for and get a proper vps with a decent provider.

How was the stability before the renewal?

The server maintained over 150 days of continuous uptime before the update, which is pretty good.

Yes, but now I can enter the server overview, and it shows that it is powered off. There is no response when I click to power on, and there is still no notification.

HDD with your required port speed for a storage server, why?

  • Your service was suspended for: Extreme I/O Usage. Please appeal your suspension by clicking the green button above. Otherwise, please cancel your service to avoid service renewal.

My service was suspended. I think it might be caused by clicking on the power on button too often? I have never received such a warning, which is very strange. After all, it has never happened in two years of use.

The phrase “Extreme I/O Usage” doesn't suggest anything about the power button to me, unless there is something very buggy handing out incorrect error messages.

But since the disconnection with the server, I can't access the admin panel and the server. After restoring access to the admin panel, it shows as shutdown. I can't imagine any extreme IO usage, or even what is using IO.

  • It's $20 a month and mine is $20 a year, but thank you anyway.
